I don't subscribe to this notion that we can't play Harry in the ruck. The people who are saying this are the same people who said we can't play JSOS in the ruck, and look at what he has done in the past 2 years. And people are completely overrating the importance of a backup ruck. Is Harry great in the ruck? Not particularly, but if Daniher can go in and just be a presence then so can Harry. Daniher playing backup ruck means Brisbane don't have to play Big O and Fort together, both of which are pure rucks. If we bring in pitto then TDK gets plonked in the forward line where his output significantly drops.

Goodwin wanted to play with 2 elite level rucks, it took him about 17 rounds to realise it doesn't work, but better late than never and now look at gawn and the dees with van Rooyen/smith pinch-hitting. Luke Jackson has played his absolute best footy ever since darcy has been out of the side. Pittonet is a battler and a warrior but he can't contribute anything outside of stoppages. Once the bulldogs played English on his own and moved on from Stefan Martin you've seen how English has taken his game to a new level. Its well and truly time for Voss to put his 2 ruck fetish in the bin and give TDK the keys to the sole ruck.

I'm open to Harry learning how to ruck.

Disagree on Pitto though. Sure I can see a future possibility where TDK takes the no.1 ruck mantle and pushes him out, but I also see one where he cements himself as the no.1 too.

His actual ruck work and physicality is an asset to our stoppage game, which is vital to us. Nankervis won 3 premierships and don't see why Pitto can't be a similar player.

English may be the AA ruck but there were certainly games where he was well beaten and had dogs fans wishing he was more physical and stronger.

Charlie AA but can’t believe that thug Greene was named Captain after he headlocked McGovern and refused to let go. He ain’t leadership material. 😡
I’d go to war with Toby. Close to the best player in the comp.
When we were at our most successful, he’d be just one of the rat pack that we built our premiership teams on.
To pretend otherwise is hypocritical.

Our edge over teams is our contested football and movement from contest. Pitto is key to this pillar of our game.
We are fortunate that acres, hollands and cottrell, plus walsh and doc are guys who can stay on the ground for long periods and allow us to have pitto or tdk on the pine, avoiding scenario of being too slow.

Pitto is a must in and by extension cotters and hollands must stay in too.

Motlop straight forward in for durdin.

Doc straight forward in for fisher.

Cripps obviously an in. But who comes out is more interesting. Hewitt has earned right, over dow. So dow comes out for mine and i cant see us go with 3 inside mids.

Sub likely dow but only if we intend to play him on ball, as he has limited ability to play another position.

Agree marchbank looked good when he came on last week.

Go blues!

I'm firmly in the keep Fisher over Boyd camp. It is line ball so wont lose my rag over it if they choose Boyd but in my glass half full scenario Fisher can find the ball 25+ time, can gain 380-450 metres gained, and can tackle 4 times in a game when forced to. Pretty much all things Boyd cant do except tackles.

In my mind, winning a flag takes something special, so I'm plumping for having faith in fisher replicating 20+ disposals and metres gained along with score involvements.

I see a little bit in Boyd but he does a lot of sideways kicking slowing us down (terrible metres gained), and effectively has 8 effective disposals a match. Not that much to get excited about.

I think we win this comfortably

Hopefully McKay has a better game , I’m not worried

Give bam bam a run his aggression is finals worthy

In: bambam , cripps, doc , boyd, motlop
Out: hollands , fisher, cincotta, durdin , marchbank

Keep pitto out another week

Flying in from Bali on Friday 2pm, will have a shower/get changed in the Q Club then head to the game.
Lucky to be in a box for the game..

CARNA BAGGERS!!!!
Just who the **** do you think you are?

Random thought…..could Marchy play the JSOS role?
Similar size, more athletic, better mark, probably not the same footy smarts, but could it be worth a try?
As others have mentioned, I think it’s detrimental to TDK when he has to share the duties with Pitto.

Early Weather forecast is not great. 5-10mm of rain predicted. Not sure what impact that has on selections.

That's irrelevant to whether he should be Captain....

(which he shouldn't frankly)
He's kicked 60 goals as a small forward so clearly belongs in the team.

He's captained his club from finishing 16th last year to making the finals this year, set an example and pretty much won a couple of games off his own boot.

The only real opposition was Moore who is hardly inspiring and bontempelli who has captained a supposed top 4 list to missing the finals.

I get that people have pre conceptions about Toby. Based on this year's form and this year's leadership in my eyes he deserved to be the all australian captain.
