I come in peace, good luck Friday night. It's been 10 years out of finals and I remember that elimination final back in 2013 :(. It's a shame you guys had a mid season slump and didn't finish top 4, your end of season performances have been red hot and scream flag contender. I think you'll easily account for Sydney, once the players nerves settle, as you're much better than them. After that I guess it gets a bit harder. Whatever happens in September I see a flag in this Carlton list. All the best for the finals series.

Crippa kicking efficiency 54.5%
267.5m gained, 3.6 Clanger
Dow is at 345.9m, 53.5% & 1.8 clanger. Disposal for clanger Dow is more reliable than Crippa & Walsh.

So Cripps disposal then is also poor going by the standards of a few on here and he's not very important. Dow averaging similar clearances but more metres gained and less clangalangs. And I thought he was by far our worst midfielder when it comes to disposal? Maybe just don't bring Cripps in at all judging by his stats? 🤣

Bit steep for a difference of opinions - it's pretty dank in here. 🥸
You assume again SHT. Not steep for the "cheap possessions in the backline" bs. Always happy to discuss different views. Just not a fan of hyperbole and lies.

I cant really remember him passing with zero pressure are you sure? The heat has been on in most of his games and he's a clearance winner not a receiver to be getting the ball in space with no pressure. He simply hasn't had the luxury. It has rarely happened. Stats can be extremely misleading, disposal effiiciency is probably the most misleading out of them all. I call BS. If bhis kicking or his awareness for that matter was poor, he wouldn't have stood up in the big games and he wouldn't be getting a game now.

'I've seen him hit many a pass lace out under pressure.' Which is complete rubbish but very easy to say.
Go watch the Westcoast game. He has 15 kicks (from 21d) that day. I remember multiple times him missing targets.

Disposals eff went at 52%

He might speak 100% facts, but he omits 50% of other facts.

Pitto has only played 4 games in the last 6 weeks (since round 14 actually), all with a sore knee and whilst regaining fitness. The fact we play him with the sore knee says a bit IMO. We have won all those games, 3 of them against top 6 sides.

He has just had a 3 week break to assist with the knee.

Voss has fond memories of ruckmen wearing 27 who come in and influence big finals. He plays.

Leaving Pitto out and rucking H would be a high-risk selection strategy.
You don't make high-risk selections for games that you should just be winning.

If you need to do something really special to get the win, then sure. But if we rock up and play our game we'll win.
Time to be conservative with selection.
Pittonet has only been playing because Jack is injured and Young was offering nothing as a forward. He is plan C these days, not plan A.

McKay had clearly had zero minutes in the ruck in years, and still was a threat at forward stoppages. If he's been taking more looks in training, I'm interested to see what happens.

The goal should be to minimise part-time rucks being at the centre bounce through how you push the ruck's movements and jumping as the games and quarters progress.

The comments are fair and intelligent, and it should be under strong consideration, based on Harry's progress in training and video analysis. Pittonet is almost a phantom for 90% of his minutes.

That's an extreme moneyball move to make when you could be playing a far more actively involved player, and not curtailing another player's influence to less than half of what it normally is. To suggest that Pittonet's ruck taps are so important that we will play him purely for them has always been ludicrous.

You do realise clangers, turnovers, are already included in disposal efficiency yeah 😀

What you mean a clanger would result in a non effective disposal??? My god I never would've know had you not told me. 🤣

Edit: TBF though, a clanger is a lot worse than an ineffective disposal.

Yes and those extra 8 metres per kick for greater ineffectiveness really makes a huge difference 😂

Can't wait for this game to start

I’d sooner drop TDK than not bring in Pittonet. He is crucial to our clearance game.

I don't think the club* has ever shared this thought with you in respect to playing Pittonet, he's a great tap of the ball, but he offers so little else if he's not fit to play.

Hopefully the two weeks off has helped, or maybe we're lucky and Jack is ready to go. 4 year deal suggests he must be seen as a sound backup.

Also, other teams wanted him, so they needed to give more years than otherwise would have.

Is Dow's first full game of the year, 6 weeks ago, all that relevant when assessing his footy?

Not really relevant, but last game he went at 44% efficiency

But he has improved, career high 53% this year, just ahead of Cuners, Pitto, Owies

I know I am tough on Dow, but the way he gets talked up around here is like he is an elite player
