Voss said this during the presser:

"they’ve got a front half with their smalls that are particularly threatening."

It would be odd if we went Marchbank given where their strengths lie. I'm surprised Boyd is not in the 26.
It would be odd if we thought Fisher could defend an opponent
In: Pitto, Cripps, Doc, Motlop
Out: Durdin
Am I correct then that leaves 3 spots and sub, with say Cincotta, Fisher, Fog, Marchbank, Cuners, Hollands, Dow fighting for these spots?
If so, I'd like to see Cincotta and Hollands in, Dow as sub, and the last spot between Fog and Cuners. Just me...
If we're allowed to play 25 players, I'm going to put money down on us, and I don't gamble

I've got that as
Ins: Pitto, Cripps, Doc, Motlop (Dow as sub)
Out: Durdin, Fisher, Dow, one of Cuners or Fog (Marchbank 'out' as well, but he was sub).
Have I got the numbers wrong? Genuine question.

I'm not advocating for that, just replying to the poster who suggested it's Marchbank or Fisher.

If Boyd is not in the mix, then it's 2 of Fisher, Cinc, Doc and Marchy for the 6th and 7th defenders.

I've already stated my belief is it will be Doc back with Hollands kept on the wing. I personally don't think Fisher or Marchbank should play.

Ollie Hollands has played 17 games this year (including last 6). It's a different game come finals, but I feel (understandable as it may be) it would be stiff if he was to miss out.
Maybe it's not this year, but I get the feeling that Hollands is a winger that's built for finals. Whenever they talk about guys being "built for finals" usually it's a big contested beast of a player, i.e. Cripps or someone with immense x-factor like Curnow or Petracca. But I think from a different perspective Hollands is exactly the type of wingman that could impact a final.

His defensive intent and the way he sits in the hole and puts his body on the line inside D 50 along with his long supporting runs all day will be very valuable in these sort of high pressure games. They talk about finals resulting in more contested footy and less outside uncontested footy, well the way Hollands runs he'll always be in support for the uncontested outside ball to get out of pressure and will always be running in defence to add to the pressure. Both will be invaluable.

Like I said in my first line - maybe not this year for him, obviously he's young and will still need to physically develop etc. But over a period of time I could see him being a huge finals player and I would like to see him have the opportunity on Friday.

Sounds good to me...

Personally, I would like to get Boyd in as well for a bit more of a lockdown defensive option on a Papley etc, but I'll be happy with the team selection as long as we field 23 fit players - that's all I'm asking for :D

Agree.

Hollands best games in his U18 year were in the biggest games. Carved WA up in the Champs. And then his best game was the "U18 GF" VM v VC where he killed em. Also hasn't let us down in big games on the G this year.

This footballer relishes the big time. Driven, determined and confident. He won't shy away on the big stage.

If he isn't picked this week, in a full fleet of mids/runners, it will be no disgrace or commentary on him in his 1st year. And if he is picked, he will play hard.

Star of the future obviously, but also happy to roll with him tomorrow if he makes the cut.
