Honestly just not at all surprised.

We've said it now for so many years, we've seen this movie over and over.

The repetitive themes are just beyond belief.

Lost the last 5 knockout finals, to teams we beat in the prior minor round clash we had. Hinkley never adjusts, just expects it to work again.
Lost 4 of those 5 at home.

We've got a terrible record in home night games at AO. It just beggars belief that we can't harness the crowd.

Once again in a final we play a negative brand of footy, getting absolutely spanked, running around just chasing players, whilst the opposition attacks the game.

We have some great talent in that midfield group, but it has some huge issues. They are too weak, the tackles of all plus Rozee in particular we're embarrassing all night. They just waltzed around us, shoved us out the way and had their way with us. Butters was massively exposed having zero defensive awareness at the clearances. JHF is too young and we shouldn't need so much from him.

We have massive gaps elsewhere. The midfield lost us the game with that horrendous 1st and 2nd quarter. However the comeback was thwarted by many moments from the lesser players and goalkicking. Boak surprised and really tried to lift us, but McEntee is a comedy of errors. Just should not be playing. Horrendous coaching. DBJ is just pointless, he must be traded out, his contract was a huge mistake. Farrell was just embarrassing, talk about a deer in the headlights, he has been phenomenally bad lately. Jones was horrendous early, but did improve. Lycett and the ruck problem is huge, Sweet won't help us win a flag, and realistically now you've gotta think we're a whole rebuild away (with no draft capital), we really need to invest in Visentini. Hogan absolutely thrashed us, McKenzie had a shocker but can obviously be excused. Dixon and Marshall could barely move so were also a huge issue. We should've delisted Dixon. We'd be better off playing Georgiades, Marshall and Lord and building for the future.

It's all just a massive mess.

We've got 2 more years of this limp wristed club, limping through the Hinkley era before we finally move on, and don't tell me we will replace him with Carr, it needs to be someone untainted by Hinkley completely.

Please, please, please to that man upstairs if he exists, can we please just have some things work out for us and us finally win another premiership one day! Im desperate to see success again, and right now it just seems so far away that it is crazy.

List Management has to focus on 3-7 years from now.

Game plan is too defensive orientated. Selection with players like DBJ/McEntee up forward need to stop. They don’t win finals.

Need to trade Wines/DBJ. Need to play the kids.
This is part of our biggest problem. We're afraid to pick players that might not be up to it in the short term, because we're trying to just find ways to scrap out wins.

We're playing safe. Just constantly afraid to take a chance.

DBJ and McEntee are symptoms of this massive issue.

We are better off losing some games taking risks, trying something different, than trying to just keep scrapping together minor round games that mean zero when our talent gets found out later, and our draft position becomes a noose for our neck not allowing us to bring in prime talent.

We need to prioritise the development of Georgiades, Lord, Burgoyne, Visentini. We also desperately need to find a handful of quality kids despite having zero draft picks. Our midfield is lacking strength, hardness and wingers.

There's issues everywhere, and playing temporary solutions isn't working.

Butters I thought was ok to good tonight. Rozee less so. But yes the psychological damage/“culture” of living in the Ken cult is definitely a thing with some. Burton’s decline is sad and we may be seeing something similar with Farrell as well. I still think Duursma is finding his post injury feet so I’ll reserve judgement until the end of next season. In a premiership contender you get those little extra things from the less heralded role players. Not the “deer in headlights” we keep seeing repeatedly.

Butters wasn’t good. Please.

Our centre square and stoppage work was diabolical. He was in those contests. He was completely unsighted in the second quarter when the game was blown apart, and did sweet F-all in the first. His third quarter was a selfish Clanger fest kicking inside of 50. He and Rozee were defensively atrocious. If it wasn’t for the fact that Wines and Duursma each played two of the worst individual finals games in our poor AFL history, Butters’ September choking would be the highlight story it deserves to be. He showed no courage, no determination when it counted. Neither did Rozee. And for all the JHF apologists out there, all we have to go by is the fact that in two finals he did not deliver. He just fumbled.

i said bye bye last week. Went out for dinner, didn’t look at the score, just got home. Not surprised, unsurprisingly.

Why did it take so long for you all to catch up?

Really need to find a winger asap.

I'd see what trade value Wines and DBJ have
Great call on trading Wines.

I don't need a bloody Brownlow medallist acting captain who gets 5 touches in a half of a final, and shows zero leadership, energy, body language, chat ....

I miss having hope and belief that we could be successful.

I really need to just stop caring about success, because at the current rate, 18 team comp and all, who even knows if we'll see success again in my lifetime.

The club doesn't chase greatness, it has lost its demand for success, and it just feels stupid dragging myself along year after year on this pointless journey, waiting for the change that never comes.

I just can't see where success is coming from. GWS have talent everywhere and depth. They also hold 2 first round picks. Here we are, shallow as anything beyond our 22, playing a bunch of spud fringe players and with no ability to inject talent into our squad. We've got a long, long period of continued mid table rut ahead of us.

Honestly the 13 game win streak and Tredreas comments were the worst things ever to happen to us. He doesn't say it, it doesn't spark a huge run and here we probably are sacking our coach, sparking hope and change again.

You get what you deserve, and this is what we deserve after Thursday nights selection.
Blind Freddy could see that McEntee and DBJ should of been omitted for Evans and Fantasia, we all said it, it's not hindsight when it's that bloody obvious.
Surely one of the assistant coaches must of suggested as much, were they over ruled by Hinkley?
Someone down there ain't too bright.
