Do you have a link to the article? I can't find anything on Google or the AFL website. Not doubting you, just trying to find the article you referenced.
From the article below:

"For instance, it would have allowed Adelaide to list one of Rory Sloane or Taylor Walker as a veteran for 2024 and opened up another spot on their primary list. The idea was designed to keep veterans in the game without sacrificing a list spot that a youngster may have taken, with the veteran’s full payments still counted in the salary cap."

There's a link in the post above

AFL have already copped a pasting over the three PPs, maybe that package was OTT because they know McKay wont get Band 1.

Will be common knowledge in the industry what McKay's contract is once it's signed, AFL can't dish out Band 1 if it's not in the top 5% or it will come back to bite them.

Gresham $880k anyone?
Not sure they've copped a pasting - just a few coaches and some anonymous complaints.

I thought they'd actually get better picks - start of the 2nd round isn't as bad as it could have been.

From memory he was a better forward half player and those spots have been taken by others.
Thought his best work was as an inside midfielder, but appears to be more a wingman these days which he is less suited to.

Has swapped with McCluggage.

I think he promised a lot but hasn't been that influential for a while
I agree, but why as he should be peaking now, rather than going backwards.

Imo, his best was as an inside midfielder... just the type we could do with, rather than on the outside.

He looks like a bit of a hack now. He would be a whipping boy here if in our team.
Don't think his skills are good enough for an outside player.

Looks to have Wines syndrome.

At least after today we don’t need to hear people bash our list management over Frampton. Great that Billy got a GF medal and good on him - but arguably the worst winning GF performance inAFL history. Literally did nothing of value

Andrew’s had almost no impact on the game and only took marks when Billy was off.
He did a much better job of playing as a defensive forward than Andy Otten did in 2017.

Dunkley has taken his role.

Look at Andrew’s stats and then look his average for the season, they’re pretty close, slightly better in sone categories today. Most Andrew’s other opponents probably managed more than 2 disposals as well.

I think he has a dodgy shoulder which prevents from playing inside
Played last year on the Wing as well (not injured) .....just think BRIS prefer others in the Midfield over Berry

The less Billy got the ball, surely the better for Collingwood
That’s exactly right. I saw plenty of times they were never kicking it to Bill to keep it away from Andrew.

Anyway people can laugh at him but the dumbest, worst player on the ground was Berry. Made old Bill look like a brain surgeon

Andrew’s had 16 disposals, 9 marks , 8 intercepts and went at 94%. All above average for him over the season

Billy got 1 kick - a soccer off the ground for a point 1 handball and 2 free kicks against

Billy looked so far out of his depth today it is not even funny.

But I don’t mind Billy and good on him for getting a medal - but no argument his performance was Hall of fame Bad

So, we've gone from Berry isn't the midfielder he looked like he'd be, to Berry was the worst on the ground.

That's a fair escalation.

Not sure I agree.

There will be the existing signed contracts, and I think it will be compared to what they are, not a projection of what they'll be.
How many contracts worth $800k or better won't be fact not projection by the time that McKay signs his contract?
