Sorry, what did Silvers say?So what are the quotes from Tim Silvers all about then?
Bloke needs to get his facts straight or just STFU?
"Our plan for this year was to target what we thought were needs, whether that be a midfielder or defender. Our focus is sharply going to move to a key defender with the most recent injuries. You've got to be flexible and agile in this game. We certainly have had some targets for this year."
Didn’t he say a few days ago language along the lines that discussions were ongoing with Rory’s management. Intimated another contract was in the worksSorry, what did Silvers say?
Oh dear. You don't have "ongoing discussions" in that situation without the result being another contract. Well, just have to hope it's one year, minimum chips, and it's made very clear that he's depth (and the selectors live up to that).Didn’t he say a few days ago language along the lines that discussions were ongoing with Rory’s management. Wow! High praise from you! Must be okaymoderate performer.
Do you think it should be a secret that we need a defender? What a aggressive comment for saying what Blind Freddy knows.Silvers is clearly a dickhead then.. because for a start he shouldnt be broadcasting that to the world as it simply opens us up to paying more.. in salary and draft capital.. cause other clubs, players and managers now know we have a need.. and they can exploit that.
And how we can honestly think our midfield doesnt require urgent and immediate attention over everything else is simply laughable..
Ouch
Wow! High praise from you! Must be okay
This is what a good recruiting team can achieve.
Give up an aging star and get some good value in

If there is something I admire about Ports list strategy is they will always put club before player, ......
Basically, what I was thinking. That was a big year. The AFL helped GCS out again in draft help and putting Rankine and Luko in a hard-to-get category.I think he was 24 or 25 at that stage, he'd had a couple of leaner seasons than his best but that was an incredibly ballsy call at the time. They knew Chad was after a big pay day in his FA year which they didn't want to get caught up by. Did the same thing with Polec too, knew he wanted a big contract on a decent year and they told him to look elsewhere.
If there is something I admire about Ports list strategy is they will always put club before player, we do it sometimes to be fair but not with the same ferocity. Their abilty to identify they couldn't get Luko or Rankine but could get Rozee and still have a pick around the mark to get Butters was top notch, credit where it is due.
We should have been better prepared that year, we could have got Rozee that year and still have Rankine now
Murray, Butts, Keane, Borlase and Worrell even.Let’s not forget after Borlase and Keane we basically have no one else. We’re playing our entire KP defensive depth. We have Murray out for likely all of next year and we’re already delisting McAsey. We needed another KPD regardless. It is urgent even though these boys have proven to be up to it.
Murray won’t play next year and likely takes 18 months to get back to the level he’s played at. McAsey already needs replacing. We will get another one. No doubt about that.We don’t need another one.
