Hello Dockers fans!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

Gee we will have nothing this draft. Collard is a goner I reckon now, can’t see how we get near him.
Yeah we better have something up our sleeves. Why would you be trading for the future when you have present needs that need to be addressed.

2x 2nds for a late first? Port aren't going to drop much next year and we'll probably finish between 6-12.

Looks like it favours Port at face value.

Play around with the draft pick calculator. The key thing to remember is our 22 this year is going to be about 30 in reality. Then plug in picks in the 20-30ish range to add to that.

I think it is pretty fair. Hence why it was done so quickly.

If it falls in Port's favour, it's only about pick 40 in value at worst (e.g. 18 versus 30+25), and that ignores the premium first rounders have over the simple points value comparison. More reasonable scenarios would be about pick 50-60 in value.

If they end up falling and we rise up the ladder, it could work out in our favour, but again by only pick 40-60 value unless they really fall off a cliff and we do the opposite.

I'm starting so find it hard to see how we don't end up with Logan McDonald after this trade, the rumours from the ITKs on this board and Ryan Daniels running with it in the news.

Can we play all of Jackson, Treacy, Amiss and McDonald or does Treacy get pushed out? Or does Jackson spend a lot of time in the middle.

Would you trade pick #29 and pick #30 for pick #12?
You can't tell the future. This board always talks about how good Port's midfield is so why wouldn't they carry them throughout next year? We have pressing needs in a small forward and there is one available from our state this draft. We aren't guaranteed to get L Mac next season so we have taken a big gamble.

I cringed a little bit when I first read it, but then I remembered the million bids + compensation picks coming before 22.

Worst case is we finish last and Port win the flag where we pay pick ~30 for a 1 spot upgrade.

The potential upside is massive.

I think you can keep Treacy if Jackson moves out of the forwardline permanently (mid/wing/ruck/unicorn mode whatever).

There are no guarantees, but there is much more scope for this to be amazing for us compared to bad for us. The only outright bad would be them playing in a GF and us finishing bottom 3. Everything outside that is fine.

If we want Collard (which I hope we do), I would assume the plan is to use whatever we get for Henry. Still a gamble.

We really havent taken a gamble, I feel like I need to sticky this. We will not lose this trade on value, it is almost impossible

Not even a 1 spot upgrade, the future 2nd is ALREADY two spots back with North compo

What it does do is removes all the bullshit picks and FA compo from negatively affecting us both this year and next.

That’s a real win.

We need to send 44, 52 and 60 to someone for a second round pick around 30 (maybe hawks) and try draft at least one half decent player.
Then draft another with the Henry pick.
If edwards fell to 41, he could be out third. Job done.

Can't see a team with McDonald and Treacy in it unless Jackson is permanent midfield.
