Mod notice after Mr Bob did a lot of annoying work in moving days of posts out of here. As we are heading into offseason, this thread is for 2023 list management only. Getting upset on previous trades can be taken to the vent thread. Lets keep this thread on track in the part of the year it's actually relevant

I’ve always seen him as an impact player, cream on the cake to a fully functional forward line type.
So I haven’t liked the idea, but there is light at the end of the tunnel up there, so the idea has merit now.
I was the same, I wasnt too big on him but it's now kinda of a perfect scenario for a bit of a swing. 20 year old taller forwards dont kick 30 goals in a year if they dont have talent and I think Jackson's previous season is a good example of someone being mentally checked out so maybe not performing the best

IF we could use pick 40 on Georgiades and get the best small forward available at the North pick then I think that's as much value to the squad as we can get with those picks. Would also sadly probably mean Sturt is gone as I think Georgiades best position is that 3rd/4th tall where he's free to jump and Sturt is then too far back in the pecking order to keep around.
Agree, that is probably the best we can do.

I have Georgiades 3rd tall, Sturt 4th tall :)

but you know I am a sturt fan.

Seriously, I think we would be too slow with 4 talls in the forward line, even though Jackson, and Treacy are agile for talls.

Worth noting, that Flanders does not hit the scoreboard as much as I thought he would. Looks like he is playing a midfield role.

Amiss applies as much pressure as any key forward and MG would need to do his part, I think it can work as well as any team going with 4 "talls". You can still play Jackson more up the ground if needed as well

I think it hurts you too much both with forward pressure, and midfield rotations. It does not work for other sides, and I don't think it would work for us.

Also.

Cal Twoney said he (Liam Henry) will be in Victoria next year. (Around 4 minute mark)

Snuffaluphagus - I think I will be one of the few, but if we got a top 10 pick for him I would be happy

What pick would it take for you to think we broke even.

I had a quick watch of that, are you talking about Henry both in heading to Vic and for a top 10 pick?

The question was, what pick would you want for Henry to be happy with the trade (or at least think we have not got completely ripped off).

In my opinion, if we got a top 10 pick I would be happy.

MG will be in Vic? Or someone on our team? Can’t listen atm

Yeah sorry but I thought you meant Twomey said MG would be in Vic which seems like from watching the video that you were talking about Henry.

I think you are absolutely dreaming if you think we get anything near a top 10 pick for Henry. It would require the game on the weekend to basically be the standard for the rest of the year for him and I could almost guarantee that's not going to happen.

Sorry, I was not clear.

What pick is Henry worth then?

It's really hard because he just came off a career game. Prior to that game he'd have been a pick 40 at absolute best (and even that was probably optimistic). If he keeps up similar form there might be some world where we'd get a teens pick but then I think he'd stay and we'd want to keep him anyway.

He could be like Logue, if we come too late and big offers are already in front of him.

That may just be because we haven't started contract negotiations. Doubt we haven't because we definitely don't want him but just because we want a better idea of what we will be getting. The better liam plays now the better contract he will get also

I dont think anyone was offering a massive offer, it would be more that 1st round picks who have shown flashes are worth bringing onto your list for dirt cheap and Liam was, prior to the weekend, really stagnating with his career here so he was/is open to leaving to keep his career afloat. I THINK (no sauces here) that if he locks himself into best 22 and some level between the last two weeks becomes his average game then he stays with a multi-year contract.

Lets be real, as stoked as I am for the kid (and I've been as big a fan of him as anyone), it was just one game. He doesnt have the credits in the bank at the moment and cant afford to slip back at all.

So are we actually linked to anybody or are we all guessing in here?

I know there was the Naughton stuff earlier in the year but I highly doubt it happens and not even sure I would want him at this point.

I am not his biggest fan, so I personally would be happy to trade him.

For me he is too outside, not to have elite skills and speed.
