Mod notice after Mr Bob did a lot of annoying work in moving days of posts out of here. As we are heading into offseason, this thread is for 2023 list management only. Getting upset on previous trades can be taken to the vent thread. Lets keep this thread on track in the part of the year it's actually relevant

Anyone worried about losing Hamling must be the type that holds onto their old undies with holes and turd marks in them and just can’t bring themselves to toss them.
I’m all for offering him a year. That’s it.

Stop crying all the ‘Well if Pearce, Cox, Ryan go down and Chapman stays injured for life and if our entire back 6 catch pneumonia then Hamling would e been great depth’

If Hamling has been offered more than 1 year on ANY money he should take that with both hands and count his lucky stars.

The Key Defender market right now is ****ed. Of course he was going to have some interest. Spuds like McKay and Logue are getting 800k for 5+ years

Unpopular opinion but I’m totally fine with this.
Unless you think we are a flag contender next year which is a stretch for even the most one-eyed members of the purple army, we are better off in the long term with the pick received from hamling even if it’s a third rounder. Walls will put it to good long term use.
Hamling ain’t getting a game ahead of Cox or Pearce next year.

It might hurt short term but I'm simply not comfortable with the club offering two years for a 30+ year old depth player.

I'm not overly convinced replacing him as a depth player is impossible tbh. A state league player won't be as good but would likely be good enough to step up and play the 5-10 games we're likely to need them.

Now Fremantle just need to remind the AFL that they changed the rules on free agency right after Freo traded for Hamling so we are owed one here meaning we couldn't use the facility that another club will now take him with.

If we do lose hammer then hopefully the veterans list comes in end of next year too, will be great for our list management to have those 2 spots

Band 2 = about 20
Band 3 = about 26
Band 4 = about 38

Really, any of those will be handy swapping Gold Coast for points

There’s a fresh pack of undies from that 2018 Fathers Day extravaganza, but you just can’t pull the trigger and get a feel for the unknown.

You’re the sort that if your missus tossed one of your old shirts with holes in them you’d nod knowingly that she was right, but deep down there’s a burning desire to let her know that wasn’t her decision. Life will go on, but the sideways glances whilst munching into your dinner will intensify at every ‘You should buy a new shirt’ type comments.

The Suns whole senior list is basically first and second round picks with a few academy players thrown in.

They can't be compared to other top five teams imo. Their depth of youth is insane on that list.
