TT is a piece of s**t.

Ignoring that if you can (i can't) he's deeply conditional, unfit, refuses to engage with team, coaches, gameplan, fitness requirements, afl mandated rehab and education.

Given our recent rejuvenation has come from hard work, effort and pressure; and guys like fisher who can't or wont tackle but are decent young men can't get a look in, why would we?

also, as stated earlier is just an atrocious person

It's academic anyway as no way North will trade him.

Leaving the off field issues out of it, he is a considerably far more talented player than Fisher, and in a one in Million chance Norf offered us Thomas in a straight swap for Fisher, I would do it in a heartbeat (so would the club)

Now without defending all of the allegations or rumours he has alleged to have done, I feel like there has been a massive media beat up against Tarryn Thomas, and I know our magistrates in our country are probably too lenient (esp towards football players and celebs) the judge who sentenced him has apparently seen an much improved character and repentance from TT.

To quote the great Shakespeare

"To err is to be human.
To Forgive, Divine"

But as I say, it's a moot point as North aren't trading him

Liam Henry is someone we should look at.Had a very good year would fit in perfectly at the big boys feet.

Would rather Liam Duggan. He's an UFA at the end of 2024 but we may be able to do a WEagles deal

Id maybe take him next year as a FA but not before. Will be 28 at the start of 2025 so not sure we would take him tbh. McCluggage is who we really should be chasing as a FA at the end of next year.

We need an injection of youth from 18-22 years of age imo.

I've mentioned Flanders previously but suspect he would now cost a bit more than what he would have a month or so ago.

Kai Lohmann from the Lions may look to come back to Vic for more opportunity.

If we could, id love for us to get in the ear of LDU and convince him to want to pack his bags and leave North. Happy to offer this years and next years 1sts and then some. A midfield to choose from Cripps, Walsh, LDU, Cerra, Kennedy, Hewett etc would be scary for opposition clubs. Would love if we somehow pulled off an unexpected huge trade. Nothing wrong with dreaming 😁

All fair points but I really want to pick at the carcass of West Coast 🤣🤣🤣

Hard pass IMO.

We have struggled with midfield balance without LDU. Paying a massive price to add him into the mix and confounding those balance issues would potentially be absolutely disastrous.

Yes he's a gun. Yes every team would love to have him. Yes it's an incredible looking midfield on paper. But the game isn't played on paper.

Just expressing my own personal views, even if it doesn't align with the majority.

Zac Fisher is surplus to requirements at the footy club these days, but a fit and hopefully controversy free Tarryn Thomas would be a game changer for our club.

Kai Lohmann is, to me, the most interesting if your suggestions. I am not a big fan of poaching established players from other clubs. I am very much in favour of giving opportunity to players stuck behind a log jam of senior types at their club.

Lohmann has performed quite well when given opportunity. Only ever getting a bit role with low TOG, he has proven to be hard at it and skilled, the big point of difference is that he has an aerial presence. The youngster has only just touched the surface of his potential. I suspect the failed Cam Rayner defensive experiment was partly to free up room for a medium forward. They added Gunston to the mix as well, which may have impacted. The Lions have another Ashcroft to add next year, and Lohmann may struggle for game time going forward because of a perceived pecking order. I don’t think he would be as cheap as we might expect though.

Blues on hunt for Irish talent

Carlton list boss Nick Austin and national recruiting manager Mick Agresta are heading to Ireland this week as they consider alternative options to bolster the Blues’ list.

The trip coincides with Sunday’s All-Ireland football final, which this year pits Gaelic powerhouses Dublin and Kerry against one another at Croke Park.

I love this, our CAT B list should be full every year. A free hit outside the salary cap should be taken.

I can’t imagine we’d send both Austin and Agresta over there mid year without being very confident in landing a player. Exciting.

Those two statements don't add up.

#21 2021 draft (6 AFL games)
Early second round draft pick should/may get it done #25/30’ish

Apparently 3 clubs have strong interest in Fisher including Hawks and North Melbourne. North currently hold picks 2,17,39,58,59 and get at least pick 21 when McKay leaves. Pick 39 would be okayish. Hawks only hold 3,22,77 which would be tougher as they wont give up 22. Probably offer us a future 3rd.

I'm surprised Fisher is so keen to leave and go to another bottom club after spending so long at the bottom with us. While he's currently not best 22 it wouldn't be that hard for him to work his way back in. Its not like the coaches don't rate him as he has been an automatic pick for the best part of 5 years. Must be hell bent on being a midfielder.

I think we will target UFA, FA, OOC

Then trading out this and next years 1st rounders in deals for undervalued players, while adding multiple 2nd and 3rd rounders next year for the Campo boys

Who are you thinking of?

I would've thought we'd be hitting the draft with these selections.

Might be reading between the lines - I don't think he should ever have been a lock and I doubt we see him in again during the season.

Take pick 2 off North and pick 3 off Hawks and they can share him....

Thought I would kick of the general calibre of 'unbiased' discourse we see creep in here coming into silly season. Strap yourselves in as Fisher etal's perceived value sky rockets! 🤪

Glad Fish seems to want to leave. He is very talented and could become a keeper small forward, but sees himself as a midfielder only. Trouble is he too often plays like a seagull, more opportunist than contested. That is not a midfielder in the modern game.

One of those blokes it is very easy to get exited about, his moves can be “mesmerising”, however, the way modern footballers are drilled his opponents are very familiar with his steps. His best is, dare I say it, elite, but he does not fit within our structures. We have literally spent years tailoring a role to suit his preferred mode of play. I wish him well, but would be very happy if he can find a suitable role elsewhere and return us a decent pick.
