Seeing this makes me think that Duursma is not really a need for us. Not a knock on his ranking within this draft, just with Ford's development and George yet to play, is he going to fill a gap. I look at the above and think we really need a crumber in the front half, not another mid size forward.

I'm thinking he could possibly follow Taylor's trajectory. High flyer in juniors but without the height or strength his game might not translate to the AFL.

Ford was ok this year, definitely not someone we can bank on being absolutely elite though. George we all hope is a huge difference maker but we don’t know yet. I think it was Psicosis who said it a few days ago, in our position we can’t afford to just pass up on the talent. We absolutely pick Duursma if we think he’s better then all the options we have, that’s how we get better. I’d only have Thomas ahead of him (based on ceiling) for that position if he was on our list right now.

Not sure why people would want to push into a pick in the 7-10 range by giving 3 later 1st rounders.

Thinking I'd rather spread the risk of finding some late bloomers across 15, 17, 18.

Basically we currently have a perfect draft hand to get 2 elite kids some more positional types.

Sleevo is far from being done.
He kicked 20+ goals last season. Reckon he can kick 30+ next season. He's an out and out goalkicker.

Don't draft for need in the top 5. Draft the best player.

We don't know what the list will look like when these players are in their primes.

Imagine drafting the 5th best player with pick 2 because you temporarily had a list hole.

Imagine passing on Duursma because you have Zurhaar, Thomas and Ford. Two of which aren't signed on for 2025 and the third has had one okay season. All 4 players being very positionally versatile.

Needs and list holes change so quickly. This is a 15 year decision.
This is a smart post. Big picture thinking.

Yep, I reckon 2 and 3 best available and 15, 17, 18 for positional needs. The talent will still be there with the later picks.

James Leake sounds like someone I'd like, and Ollie Murphy could fill our key defence needs. Although I'd rather Connor O'Sullivan.

Can you start handing out bans for any suggestions of trading picks now. Perma-bloody-bans for anybody from a rival board.

Giving 3 picks is probably over the top, but clubs do seem keener than ever to move into the top 10.

I think take anyone who unexpectedly slides to 15. So essentially the best available.

Then fill some long term needs with 17 and 18. A developing ruckman and a KPD or KPF would be nice.

Thats hilarious. Nick averages more contested possessions than Simpkin! Josh more than Sheezel. For contested possessions Stephenson is ranked 100th for Medium forwards. He's scared shitless of a hard ball. No one can deny that, no one.

If you think the Daicos brothers are soft then you must think our entire squad bar Wardlaw is tissue paper.
Mate, naicos irons his g string every Thursday after teams are named. You tell me if that’s hard man tings!!

Just kidding, I love lil Nicky.

Almost as bad as someone suggesting we take Dinkers with pick 2 or 3.

Fancy that and bloody crikey
