Review 2023 National Draft Review Thread II [McKercher, Z.Duursma, Goad, W.Dawson, Hardeman, Maley]

I heard that interview. He sounded like he had a personality. Was very comfortable with the media. The brother question is taken out of context. Family loyalty says that you want to play with your brother even if you are not bothered. We want the youngest brother wanting to play with Zane.

Well that's the other thing, just because Zane may want to one day play with his brother that doesn't mean he's packing his bag in three years, it's more likely to be Xavier looking for another home.

Old mate told me we are taking Duursma and McKercher.
Say it again, he chats with fhe decision makers.

And al clarko isn’t a decision maker on who we draft. He has some influence but isn’t his job.

Oh how’s them hawf fans praying to the Gods we take Gurtin . They are desperate for Duursma.

It’s D for Duursma all the way.
We want multi faceted players. And there is one or two posters that you should listen to. Those I speak of never said the Reid deal was done or happening.
After this is all over you, it maybe worth looking at who said what during this period and that will ease your mind * for the next trade period.

There has been a lot of rubbish posted as fact.
I hope this assists y’all.
In everyone's defence but mainly mine (I didn't actually go hard on anything)

Both the Sanders intel and the Reid Intel was reliable enough for it to spread.

It also wasn't reliable enough to suggest it came from the boot strapper who heard it from our 44th player who then went and told everyone.

I think it's been discussed before but "inside source" could be as the above - some random with the slightest affiliation for the club who heard it from someone else who etc etc.

Still, just like the Dustin Martin and Josh Kelly stuff, where there's smoke there's fire

FWIW my "source" was nervous as he'll as well when essendon entered the rave last year for clarko. Take everything on here with a grain of salt, I know I do - even from my "source".

More than likely Z.Edwards is at one of the other 16 clubs.

Yes they are extremely exciting prospects and deserve to go picks 2 and 3
Pick 3:H.Sheezel - versatile, skilled and smart. Can play on any line. We need a smart, skilled accumulator to release him to wing/half-forward

Pick 4:G.Wardlaw - a complete animal with smarts, skills and wheels

Pick 3:C.McKercher - a run all day, explosive accumulator with smarts and hurt factor

Pick 4:Z.Duursma - a versatile, smart marking threat with skills and great decision making who kicks goals for fun.

These four picks will set us up for a decade and should help attract a high-end CHF in the coming years.

I would rather Curtin .

Still don't see the point in dursmaa with George coming back and the emergence of Ford this year even Harvey falls into that category. Especially with the fact that we have no proper pressure forward in that forward line. Who is going to tackle. Curtis isn't quick enough for that role zurhaar is the closest and even then he plays that medium tall.

If Wet Toast are willing to give up F1 for pick 7 (Curtin), then surely they would swap their F1 and F2 for our pick 3 (4).

They’re most likely bottom 2 next year so we’d be swapping 4 for 1/2 and 20 and making out like bandits.
Personally would prefer we keep our top 3 picks always. They’re not a huge upside in trading out of pick 3 for a possible pick 1…….could end being pick 2-3-4.

George hasn't played a game. Ford is promising but a bit of a question mark. Don't think Harvey makes it.

Big Game Zane doesn't drop marks... no need for pressure.
