Well, even if TDK walks, playing him is not going to diminish his value, whereas keeping him on the outer will.
Same with Dow, our mids are under performing, nothing to lose.

ins. TDK, Dow, Binns, Cinc(sub)

out. JSOS, George, Ollie, Ed

Mots needs VFL time too, but 5 changes are probably 3 more than what is ever happening.

Hey guys and gals. As it happens I will be in sydney for the weekend and am keen to go watch the baggers at the SCG.

I havn't been to Steak n Kidney for almost 20 years. So I need a few pointers

1, how do I get tickets? Can I contact CFC as a member and see what they can do? or just ticketek?
2, best way to get there? We are staying in Parramatta, which is, of course on the wrong side of town. What is public transport like?
3, anything else?

thanks in advance

TDK has definitely deserved his chance to return now. Wonderful game in the vfl. His around the ground intercepting was great. I think JSOS or McGovern need to come out for him. McGovern looks checked out. Playing within himself.

Binns and Dow are another two to consider. The club needs a debit spark. Dow will tear it up if given the opportunity to take centre bounces. He’s an attacking weapon that can get separation whereas our others can’t do it.

Out: McGovern, Durdin, and Hollands
In: Binns, TDK and Hewett.
Hollands (sub).

I asked today and said surely Dow gets a game now. Got a shake of the head and told They prefer the setup they have. They apparently don't see him at that level.

If i was a betting man, baring injuries his next game at AFL level will be at an another AFL club. Front runner the Saints.
Well that's obviously not the real reason...the current set up is obsolete by modern standards.(and reflects all that is wrong with our forward line)

Only have to listen to Ash Hansen's nervous gobble-de-gook explanation when asked a direct question about Dow's selection chances back in April to work out somethings not right.

That's some weirdarse bubble they live in.
How to burst it...

never say never but my mate rarely gets it wrong. But like everything in footy things change.
For the life of me I can’t see why they don’t try him in a forward/mid/bench rotation. Cripps/Kennedy/Dow comes to mind (I would have this over what ever role Jack is playing at the moment). Since Cripps opponent just dose what ever he wants after the contest Cripps needs to rest up forward a hell of a lot more to conserve energy. We are getting burnt on the outside in this midfield position and need the player in that role to be covering the ground a lot better than it currently is.

Play Dekoning out of the square aswell if they are hell bent on one of Charlie or Harry working so high up the ground.

Tell Owies/Motlop/Durdin to hit the front of the pack at pace instead stupidly flying for marks all god damn game otherwise they can have a spell in the twos also.

Kemp for Mgovern
No idea why Kemp was dropped. Mgovern was just terrible on the weekend.

Dow for Ed
Quite certain Dow won't be in Blue next season, but if there is one ounce of selection integrity he has to play.

TDK for JSOS
Jack got mauled in the ruck and offered nothing up forward. TDK bog in reserves

Binns for Holland
Ollie needs a spell and again Jackson has done everything right.

Let me make one reason for Dow to play:

He actually gives us a chance to come out the FRONT of a stoppage. Our backwards handballing by our slow possesion conscious mids simply has to end. Handball back. Snap over shoulder/long bomb to outnumber. Rinse repeat.

Dow gives a small hope that someone could burst out the front and disrupt players around him.
Good points windows. Backed by stats: 4th worst side at metres forward from handballs in afl. Second highest kick backwards side in afl.

Putrid shit.

So what has gone wrong from this time last year when his form seemed amazing and he was touted as the AFL-wide steal of the trade/FA period? (genuine question, not being a smartarse.)

Injury? game plan? Drop in output due to not having to impress a new club anymore?
Think oppo teams are just using him as a ref point then running off him. Early part of last year no one was watching.

Just like the Brisbane game last year, Dow will play and get absolutely smashed by the fans for having ‘0 impact’ when Voss gives him just 1/4 of the CBAs of the other midfielders.
Give him 20+ CBAs please for the love of god. He’s an extractor.
Play him 65 percent game time and only on ball.

He had back surgery in the offseason. He’s not Walshy lol

I don’t mind Hamill but I would assume he would be a little more beneficial on offence considering he played 85% of his footy there and also helped mentor the like of Kosi and Nick R and the saints

Which bit of Hamill ever strikes you as an astute guy with a good footy mind?

Voss was an uncompromising hard nosed player.

Simply must drop Gov for that pathetic one arm attempt alone. Can’t be tolerated. Send a message.

Kemp in. He can replace Gov for the rest of the year. He’s the future. It’s time.

Dow in. Don’t care about his shortcoming. You can’t ignore those numbers he is putting up.

TDK in. Jsos was murdered in there. Need that 2nd ruck playing.

Yup - it'd be like us dropping Charlie for lack of forward pressure. No player is perfect but Dow's strengths are big enough to at least warrant a bloody trial at the top level.

Honey got games despite demonstrating few discernable strengths.

Up until this point you could argue there’s been no spot for Dow due to his inability to play a half-forward or wing role.
Question this week is: given the poor form of Hewett and the lack of trust we seemingly have in Kennedy, is he a better option to play as a primary mid?

Yep, this is the way Dow can get in the side.

Hewett having a game in the vfl wouldn’t be a bad thing to get some confidence again.
