I also hope we give Dow a game. Not because he is the answer - he isn’t up to AFL level and has shown it time and again.

But hopefully it’ll stop his naming being mentioned each week as if it would do anything.
He should be given a shot not because he's the answer but because his form demands it.

His situation alone tells everyone outside the club that selection integrity are just two words.

I am not a big fan of Owies but his actual output is so much more than what Durdin and Motlop are providing at the moment.

Owies seems to at least have enough nous to get into dangerous spots inside 50 for a crumb or an easy set shot - Motlop and Durdin provide maybe one or two good moments a game and generally happen outside 50 and doesn't impact on the scoreboard.

For better or worse Owies is one of the only guys not to go into his shell after the debacle last year - particularly so given his clanger against the Dees - gotta reward that

TDK has definitely deserved his chance to return now. Wonderful game in the vfl. His around the ground intercepting was great. I think JSOS or McGovern need to come out for him. McGovern looks checked out. Playing within himself.

Binns and Dow are another two to consider. The club needs a debit spark. Dow will tear it up if given the opportunity to take centre bounces. He’s an attacking weapon that can get separation whereas our others can’t do it.

Out: McGovern, Durdin, and Hollands
In: Binns, TDK and Hewett.
Hollands (sub).

Gov is like a microcosm of the side, playing within himself, scared to extend himself as he doesn’t trust his body afraid that one more major injury will end his career.

Unfortunately for Gov, what will also end his career is playing shit football.

I actually think our game plan to some degree has been created to offset the injuries we had last year, so we have gone for a lower tempo style.

If any of the 3 forwards are dropped, it won’t be Owies. Clearly the best of them currently.

In - dow, binns

Out - mcgovern. Acres

Doc back to half back to give midfeild minutes to dow. My impression is doc kicks in hope while under pressure too much of the time to be a good option out of the centre. We look like a better team when we run with handpasses. Dow gives us more in this department.

Acres turns the ball over way too much and just makes silly decisions. Sure he works hard but is obviously low on confidence. Binns works hard/has a high footy IQ and might give the team a spark.

Mcgovern is not the future. Perenially injured and unreliable. Need to move past him.

We don't have hybrid forwards. We have talls and smalls, but what we need is a Jamie Elliot, Gary Roman, Toby Greene type.

Come on mate…tell us what you’ve heard. What’s the go??
No I’ll shut up now. I just couldn’t read how professional he was one more time without making comment. He’s not. I don’t think. I’m not guessing. I’m not musing. I’m not rumouring. I don’t do that. He can lead his life however he wants. Let’s not wrap him up as if he does everyhting he can to recover, prepare and play at his best.

If you’re happy to take my word for it. Do so. If not. So be it.

Last post on the matter.

That would mean Nick Graham should have been in the Carlton side every second week.

I understand the sentiment, but Dow was told he was surplus to needs last year and no one would take him on. With that in mind, the club has been fairly honest with him.

I admire his professionalism not to drop his head, but his weaknesses haven’t been improved.

Genuine question.

It all depends on each players goals.

it’s their life. I guess some have different goals. Or some have goals but won’t prioritise the achievement of those over the life they want to lead.

That may sound like a criticism. It’s not.
