I don't think anyone is forgetting.
But aside from being the furthest away of those injured (although getting close is sounds like), Hewett's got that spot, and I think offers our mix a better defensive balance.

When they're all fit, I reckon Kennedy is battling Dow for the Sub spot.
I honestly don't know. But I remember he was outstanding before injury. Now George is back to his best,
It's...

Ultimately I want us to have these changes going into finals, and I’ve bolded the ones that should happen this week

Silvagni > Pittonet
Walsh > Cottrell
Boyd > Fisher

McGovern > Marchbank
McKay > Cuningham
Cerra > Dow

Dow, Cottrell or Kennedy to be the sub.

Cottrell and Cuningham are two of my absolute favourites and I’d rather them stay in the side but I legitimately can’t figure out who should go out instead.

I feel we can only get better with Harry back in .

Teams have been double teaming Charlie and it has made it tough for him and Big H back would not allow that .

Harry to roam further up the ground clunking those big marks on the wing whether from kick ins or defensively.

His running, size and strength a nightmare match up that oppo teams would not be able to counter.

If you were coaching against us would you want Harry out there?........ I think not.

Add to it Charlie close to goal is frightening for defenders too and attracts free kicks for him, also allows him to score from those
special things that only Charlie can do when close to goal.

When we get 5 plus goals from the two big fellas we DO NOT LOSE!

Does not matter if it is Charlie 4 and H one .

I think it has been shown many times that we are better with our TWIN TOWERS 🏨

Throw in Walsy and Cerra in next few weeks and LOOK OUT!!!!!!

If nothing else and we felt Harry was 'crowding' Charlie then, with Gov still out ,you could play Harry as an intercept defender.

Seriously, he'd take 15 marks.

I heard Joey Flogtana's commentary suggesting he wouldn't bring McKay straight back in. David King was pulling the biggest WTF face, Joey has no idea. Harry walks straight back into this side.

On return I think a role reversal would suit both Harry & Charlie. Harry does his best work out of the goalsquare. He's a great lead-up mark, but a Coleman Medallist level when played at full forward.

Charlie's versatiltiy would be amazing further up the ground and get him even more involved in the game. We've seen some of it on display lately given he's had to play both FF and CHF. His field kicking is absolutely sublime. As athletic as Kouta. And nobody will be able to go with him for 4 quarters. Could easily see him averaging 20 & 3 and tearing the finals series to shreds.

I don't think Harry is anywhere near as effective insde 50m personally. And his kicking for goal is sub par at best. Harry seems to be able to take vital contested marks coming out of defence and on the wing. So I think Charlie stays put, Harry takes the up the field role. The only negative to that is we don't get Charlie's amazing long passes inside 50m as often.

Can't see Cottrell being dropped. The amount of goals he saves through his defensive running is insane. Goals have dried up a bit (missed a few recently) but he's the definition of a role player.

Having said that, genuinely not sure how to fit them all in...

Winning is obviously the most critical point, however Charlie needs to feast if he is any chance to win back-to-back Colemans. Tex has West Coast round 24 so will need to have a decent lead.

Kennedy and Hewett together doesn’t work imo … right now Hewett is in sparkling form and Kennedy is currently back up …
I'd be really surprised if all of Cripps, George and Kennedy are not in the 22 when available. Voss has traditionally preferred the contested, big bodied types over the faster by ball movement and legs types.
As good as they all are, I hope we don't take this path and at least give Dow the sub job.

I would have thought that Harry for Fogerty would be much more obvious?

Not in my book - Fogarty is playing a high pressure role and pushing up around the stoppages, I'd like him to keep doing that as front half pressure is absolutely critical to our current form.

Cottrell looks like he's playing a negating role on the oppo medium defender or HBF, staying a kick away from the contest - flip that script and force the opposition to try and negate Harry instead.

Giving it a crack:
Walsh for Hollands (Doc back to the wing)
Cerra for Dow
Boyd for Fisher
JSOS for Pittonet
Gov for Cincotta or Marchbank (depends on the balance we want down there)
McKay for Cuningham (tough one but cunners has dropped off)
Kennedy and Hewett fighting for that last spot. Hewett's in great form but want to see how he plays with the others back - Kennedy was complimenting them beautifully

It's a 120min game - no reason they can't split the roles pretty much 50/50 and give us the best of both worlds.

Hewett wasn't back to full fitness and was struggling.
We moved Kennedy to half back at one stage.
We are way too unbalanced if we play them both with Cripps.
Kennedy actually makes a good sub though. A fresh big tough body against mids who've been battling for 3 quarters already.

Yep, can only fit the one. I feel that Kennedy gives us something different with his marking and ability to attack out the front of stoppage, though if Hewett can maintain his effectiveness will be hard to displace him.

Yeah, it's Kennedy's contested marking/better kicking/attacking play vs Hewett's defensive work/higher possession numbers.

It's why if one is in the 22, and the other is the sub, I'd play Kennedy sub.

Like it, nice one however for mine would be keeping Dow and Fish. Boyd for Ed as sub.

Ollie very stiff but that's how it is with strong teams. I know someone has to go for Cerra too and think it may have to be
a slight re jig and Owies?

It is so tough but Dow has given too much to be dropped IMO and Jessie and Fogs can fill the small forwards role.
Boyd showed in the VFL this week he can be more me than just a back pocket, could play forward or even on ball if needed.

Owies too could be sub but not as versatile.

Very stiff for Owies too but only other possibilty IMO is Cotters and as others have said he is doing his role to a tee.

Highly unlikely all will be available at any one time with injuries etc. but what a position we are coming into with these
high quality players coming back.

EXCITING !!!

Agree.

Team balance > names on paper.

Love this, agree with nearly all of it. I think Cincotta is a lock now – he is our Brayden Maynard (minus the cringey macho carry on). I would swap Cunners with Mots – Jesse is a future star but I think DC offers more atm even when he's quiet. Can't discount the extra mid rotation. The combination of Martin, Fog, Cunners and Owies up forward turned our season, and DC will impact even more with his BFF Harry back I reckon.

Good to start including whichever players we intend for finals.
Get them in, and used to playing at the level of our current form.
Team cohesion and all that.
Great if H back.

Waaay too many changes at once. Why significantly unsettle a team hot on the trot? I can only see Walsh and McKay going in. Gov 50/50.

Kemp Weitering Newman
Saad McGovern Cincotta

TDK Hewett Docherty
Acres Cripps Walsh

Martin McKay Cuningham
Owies Charlie Fogarty

INT: JSOS, Boyd, Hollands, Motlop

Sub: Dow

Outs: Marchbank, Pittonet, Fisher, Cottrell, Dow (as sub)

TEAM SELECTION IS HARD nowadays...
McGovern in for Marchbank is easy
Walsh in for Cottrell is easy (although I really like Cottrell in the team)
Boyd in for Fisher is perhaps harsh on Fish, but he's a better defender
JSOS for Pitto is tricky but I think correct for team balance
McKay in for Dow ... who becomes sub. This is more structural but really harsh on Dow.

When Cerra returns, I think we drop either Boyd or Motlop. I'd like Dow to stay as sub.

Odds of GC now that no chance of finals and new incoming coach put to bed any players with niggles and play a few on the outer/untried enough to get a feel for trades and list positions.

Would be looking at Boyd for Doc (assuming they go conservative on his calf) and Walsh if he's ready for Fish.

While Fish has been good he was in as an injury replacement and would also have Gov in if fit for Marchy. Gov's counter attack is better and he's quicker.

Will be interesting to see re Cerra if the rumour is correct or will he get up, if so probably for Dow which is a shame for Dow but.....

Also just saw the rumour re Harry, if so tough selection but i'd swap him for Motlop (another hard one to leave out) and I guess the other potential would be JSOS and if good I'd swap him for Pitt.
