Suggest you watch q1 2 and 3 Saad keeping us in it
I love him. He hurt us badly in Q3 last week and again in Q4 today.

I don’t know why he thinks he has to sag off his opponent. No one can beat him in a one on one. Why not stand his man until we have it then run off? Crucial moments of the game and he just flat out gambled when he didn’t need to.

So many players so down in confidence at the moment. Someone needs to put this up on the door this week. Can't hurt.

You quoting Voss’s dribble from yesterday?

Rinse, lather, repeat

Honestly, between Malthouse's 'we played a very good team', Bolton's 'green shoots' and 'get comfortable being uncomfortable', Teague's 'we believe in our players', and now Voss with his 'we need to get better' ... I think I'll be fine not listening to any press conferences ever again.

I’m 32 years old and have been a member for 25 of those. I’m as desperate for success and as disappointed with our current mediocrity as anyone. But ffs the vibe at our home games is abhorrent. Toxic, disgusting behaviour from our so called fans. The footy is not a safe place for kids any more. The rubbish I’ve heard these past two weeks - homophobic slurs, disabled slurs, sexist slurs, constant verbal abuse at the players, fights. If this is you, grow tf up or stop going to the footy. It used to be fun. Even when we sucked a lot more than we do right now. Go baggers.
My girls played Auskick at half time, yeah we have some weird supporters. They were pretty worried, which was strange for them cause they are usually fairly confident little girls.

its bloody confusing tbh.

can see arguments for coach and players playing their part in our poor performances.

this season seems like players skills have gone to s**t. however when we got a run on in the 3rd or early 4th we all of a sudden looked good.

i cant pick it. very strange situation we are in atm.
Maybe its transformational shudder in the process of turning the club.
A bit like flying a jumbo jet on too steep banking.

Lets hope the pilot doesnt go unconscious before it levels out and a new course is followed to sunny skies.

What chance we hear the word ‘nourishment’ from Voss in the presser?

Ooh, scoreboard nourishment? Hope so. I'm starving.

Woke teams fail..., sick of this political crap this club keeps pushing.
All the effort should be put towards a winning culuture not anything else
Sorry if I offended anyone but I just want to be proud of our team...it's been too long

Sorry, I'm done with this bullshit. Anybody that uses Carlton respects as a reason for us losing can just leave the forum. I'm not the only mod who feels this way. Some supporters need to go the way of the dinosaur.

Voss has an incredibly stupid football team trying to play smart football…simple as that.

The amount of times we just stand firmly on our heels in a zone and the opposition just cuts its way through is ****ed.

We are so dumb that someone takes a mark 55m out and we still try and get out of the 5m zone.
The weekly evidence suggests that you are on the money with this summary- unfortunately, if a team wants to be a contender rather than win participation awards like most teams aspire to - you have to be smart as well as talented - in fact I'd take the former over the later especially if it comes with the requisite mongrel.

Why does it take until half time to change up our tactics and move the ball in a manner that allows us to score? We've known for weeks what our issues are.

This is a genuine question, but given the current setup and resources, what has to happen for us to be better for the rest of this season...?
Saad into the midfield
JSOS out McGovern forward
Kemp third talk down back
McKay to play second ruck
Let the players play.

As per the wise milk ad once expressed, I just want a team that tastes like a real team. We need to get real with the basics.

yep quite worrying ..
As is the kicking at goal efforts from Cripps, Motlop and McKay in the first half…
All 3 efforts were like they were kicking a balloon in a hurricane …

Yeap, give me a tough, committed player over a talented, conditional one

At this rate, I am willing to bring Fogarty in, at least he has a crack, but feel he is too far off the pace

I have been critical of our mids, and still have reservations but harry and weiters have been avg and need to stand up. Too much being left to too few. Harry is an enigma and wieters is a role player at present.

Gents pls step forward and lead your lines. Now is your time! the team needs you.

The start of the year was the time. They've let us down.

Try telling one of the 350k that turned up to watch Bradman during the great depression at the MCG that 'it was just a game'.
When did this happen?? The biggest crowd Bradman played to at the MCG was 63,993 (a then world record) in his last test.
It's not 'just a game' like monopoly though is it. Monopoly doesn't have millions of dollars in advertising weekly, nor.do I go.out and buy Park place merch and support Mayfair or the thimble.

To reduce it to 'just a game' betrays the importance of sport historically to large communities and Australia really as a whole. It reduces the importance I guess as a coping mechanism? Which sure, that's why I said good for you but you seem to want to continue.

Try telling one of the 350k that turned up to watch Bradman during the great depression at the MCG that 'it was just a game'. Obviously far more significant than that and that attitude is what carries football as an industry.

Sure sport starts as a game but it goes beyond that due to the careers it creates and the impact it has on society etc. So to try and catch a technicality to hold the 'just a game' line. Again I say good for you. If that's the way you emotionally compartmentalize.
I agree with some of this. Sport can be important to people but it doesn't change the fact that it's a game, there are many more important things in any person's life. As far as this little fun fact you're throwing at me about Bradman, what do you mean by he played in front of 350k at the MCG? I'd be interested to know as I'm very much interested in cricket history. The biggest crowd he ever played before was at the MCG, that was somewhere around 60,000 in his last test for Australia. (It was also a world record at the time).

We got a lot of players who make the fundamentals look incredibly hard. Be nice to have more players that make the difficult parts of Aussies rules look easy.....

Yeah they don't seem to be capable of doing what he's asking - at least not for sustained periods.

Either he's asking too much and our players can't cope with it, or our players are just dumber than normal and can't execute it - probably a bit of both.

We need to try something different though - it's not working against even semi-decent teams. But I can't wait till we thump another bottom team like Hawks to make us all feel better for a week.

the changed structure allowed for better ball movement - took the doggies a while to adjust - in the end when we had hit the lead twice - English won them that game with two CBB clean taps one to Daniels alone and unmarked on the fringes ( where was the leadership or smarts there? ) and the other to the mullet head who won his first clearance for the day - on Hewett who missed ( I think both)...

defensive capability from CBB losses has become very poor for whatever reason(s)
