Hey guys,
My team is doing my head in!... I really need to beef up my defence.
Swinging Sheezel back there would help.
I only have $91k in the kitty - so I would need to downgrade a couple of rookies (Mackenzie, Caminiti..etc) to try and get enough $$ to upgrade someone like Ginbey to a premo like Stewart..

Another tempting option is LDU -> Dawson??

I'm prepared to use a boost this week to make things happen/

Thanks heaps guys, any suggestions will be much appreciated.

I wouldn't trade LDU but maybe if you went Ciminiti > Roberts you could go Greene > Dawson and have enough for Ginbey > Day next week.

That's what I have done ......debating a 2nd trade

Whilst waiting for the Constable to get a recall ....is Cowan to Chayce Jones a good trade ? ......I just cannot keep Cowan on-field another week

Gah, very hard to decide on trades this week. FYI, this is my current team:

Can get to Cogs with 2 trades (Ginbey + Caminiti), but it eliminates my bank ($2k left) while completing my FWD line.

Can get to Sinclair with two trades (Ginbey + Bowes), but requires cashing in Bowes early with a BE of 48 ($45k profit), and I only have an $11.74m team value (like $200k behind some of you campaigners).

Could do the double downgrade and upgrade Bowes next week, but NFI on who the correct options are in Roberts, Williams and Johnson, it leaves me very light in the mids with Green out and Touk may be out of reach for the moment if he goes crazy.

As an aside, it's pretty funny that in regards to the 3 speculative Geelong picks to start the year (Bowes, Bruhn and Sav), I figured all three couldn't be winners, and picked Sav as the one to fade because KPDs are usually poison for scoring unless they are intercepting, and historically he's had soap for hands. Turns out that Fijian campaigner was the pick of the lot and could have covered Witts perfectly.
I think with a lower cash gen you prob need to look for value options and hope they spike. If you haven't made enough from the rookies it can be offset by saving an extra ~50K on a fallen premium. Cogs is probably the best value option this week, priced at a 95 avge and could do 100-105 and Day next week might achieve the same result at 450K

Sounds like Franklin, Rampe and both McCartins will miss this week, and Clarke is a chance to return next week.

So Roberts will play this week, but man, it's tough to pick him knowing that he's likely to either be dropped or be sub next week when they get cattle back.

Also, before it's mentioned that those guys play different positions, the key talls will likely replace Roberts, freeing up their mid-sizers to play their usual roles.

Who knows, maybe he shoots the lights out and keeps his spot at the expense of maybe Stephens? But yeah, they've got 3-4 locks at least to come back in over the next week or two, and he's already teetering on the edge of that team.

Food for thought anyway.

It’svery difficult to predict.
Am not overthinking it, he has the 93, has DPP, he’ll rise and it’s not like there aren’t question marks over MJ, S Mitch, Dyl Will.
Plus many have to go someone to get their liquidity on for trades.

He's fringe and gives great effort. I wouldn't go there at 191k, but he will get games and could get 60's.

You'd think so for the below reasons:

1. Injuries to other mids
2. He's been performing decent since he came in
3. The team is crap so may as well play young guys

Note - Sheed and Shuey both may be back this week so there's 2 mids that will need to go out, though I believe that'll be Ginbey (rested) and either O'Neill or Clark.

His JS is maybe good but not great?

Priced too high though I think.

Given our injury conundrum at the moment he’s due to have some time out of the game ….. 😢

At 191k I’m not sure it’s worth a crack but he’ll play games at that 60-70 score level

Cheers, guys. Was looking at him just due to the better JS relative to the others, but it’s super lineball.
Fwiw, he seems a good user, has a touch of class about him and he doesn’t shy away from a cuddle, surprisingly.

Passed the eye test for me. And with that 90 he only needs 3 good weeks to make plenty of cash.

Geelong away is a tough match though with Sydney undermanned.

Doing trades this week is tough with no rookies screaming to be picked.

Hopefully there is 3-4

On the bubble:
Williams
Roberts
Moyle

Then there is Johnson after 3 games $139k still good value

Generally you'd be all over Moyle, bottom priced playing first ruck should go 60+ easily. But there has been very little info on what is keeping Witts out it's too risky.

Witts didn't train today so maybe Moyle plays again, but then what? Suns desperate for a win vs North, wouldn't surprise if Witts plays this week either.

Williams and Roberts feel safer.

West Coast play early so we should know whether Ginbey will play or not before (most) trades involving him need to be made.
Jones and Baker playing in the first game gives us a great opportunity to stick the (e) on them and if they score well maybe hold on to Ginbey even if he is rested.
But sorting my side by BE, he's the only obvious one to part ways with (assuming the rest are keepers)
