PS Weitering has done well to still get out there after he got scammed. I reckon id be crying in a corner somewhere
I got scammed for a fairly small amount but got it back. Thank you NAB.It is a horrible feeling of stupidity, powerlessness and angst that others can be willfully evil.
I feel for him. Not recovering the money would be a bitter feeling.

Unfortunately Jacob won't see any of it (his entire life savings) again. Tragic for the poor fella. Its yet another sad lesson for all of us, DONT TAKE CALLS OR TEXTS FROM NUMBERS YOU DONT KNOW EVER.

Putting aside peoples thoughts on if Obrien is up to it or not

From a man management perspective...4th or 5th time as sub I heard/ read somewhere. 1 game dropped to VFL.

Endurance athlete not explosive.

Can someone explain to me the selection logic here. Surely having him as continual sub only erodes his confidence, for a fellow fringe best 22?

Cant think of another player of his years of experience in the same predictament across the league.

I recall Gaff in his first year, being played as sub for multiple weeks, but that was years and years ago

We could say the same about most of our forwards. Again our putrid style of play chip chip chip chip then bomb long to a crowded forward line aint working for any of our forwards. Until we address this we wont be scoring much
Most of our forwards aren't in their 8th season. Those who are:
Curnow and Mckay, both won a Coleman, speaks for itself.
Motlop and Durdin, both in their 2/3 seasons - need time.
Fisher 7/8 season, also of concern.

Love Jack the original post was not about me wanting him to be dropped, it was about is he doing what he needs to, to be a HFF for the team. I'd say by the marks he drops and his kicking accuracy to date. He's not safe, he was good in 2022, we need that form, but with a higher conversion rate

Being scammed occasionally is part of life. I once paid $1200 for a sound system which looked super high quality from a van in a parking lot, from these guys who said they were audio installers. they said the warehouse had given them a double order by mistake. Even showed me a website where it was like $6000 rep system. The moment they drove out of my driveway I knew something was wrong. Worst part. At the time I was at Uni and working in the electronics part of David Jones. 🤣
You just got to take these things on the chin, some of them are really talented scammers.
And the sound from this thing was awful.

How does Fisher do it?

Geez a lot has changed in the space of a few weeks.

People calling for Hewitt to be dropped and questioning the fitness of Saad and Doc when they’d be hoping for them to play.

Why isn’t Dow getting a game a record that keeps on turning.

Carrol not selected,Boyd not selected.

It just goes on and on.We’re starting to get Bevos level of craziness.

We added 3 quick players, and dropped one very slow one?
Need to go harder. The onball group is still slow, unless Docherty is in there full time. Then it's our defence which is still too slow. Forward line too slow.

Small fixes aren't total fixes. Step in the right direction but the problem still remains.

No idea how Dow can be left out of the side. Particularly with Honey and Curnow. One looked out of his depth and the other we need to move on from when the opportunity arises and it has.

We have a young winger who gets 30 possessions per week and has a super high work rate. We go with Ed at half forward who may rotate wing who is coming of a poor game.

We have Hewett who has been mediocre, was ok last week but he's nothing special. We have Dow who is getting 30 possions and kicking goals each week and has just come off a 40 possession game, is showing that he's tackling and chasing now, we clearly struggle with having no burst speed around the contests which is his thing and he gets left out.

We all know this team needs a makeover, it needs to be turned on it's head and we need to embrace pace which the better sides are. This was the perfect opportunity to do it, against a weak side and we failed.

If Voss does not change his ways he will very quickly go into our list of failed coaches.

Reading the article, it seems the scammers were able to SMS Weiters through the same thread as his messages with the bank. It's incredibly disheartening and shocking. Kudos to him for still fronting up week in, week out.

Greg Williams was slow too but possessed football nous- a bit like MK.
williams mind/hands were super quick..and his body movement/baulking in close was also good

kennedy has good hands/kicking but is just too slow unfortunately...

when he gets his hands on the ball in the midfield often he cant get a hand pass out or run out into space with the ball as he is too often tackled/smothered.

Voss is very much appearing as a "like for like" coach in terms of selection. The persistence with Honey will seemingly continue until Owies returns.

Fisher is our weakest player in the side, incapable of sticking tackles and gets pantsed in that department by someone who is shorter and of a comparable weight in Durdin. It is plainly abysmal that he has laid only 6 tackles in the 6 games this year, including 4 games where he registered 0 tackles.

Whilst MK is shorter, I'd have him compete for JSOS' role. At least MK is a much more reliable kick for goal.

Hewett continuing to get games is pretty remarkable really. 6 kicks a game. Less than 100m gained per game. Zero goals. Well below average score involvements, score assists. Terrible defensive runner. Average pressure act player.

His 5 games this year = totally impotent.

Scratches head. Logs off for the night.
last week he had 29 possies for 30m gained - I kid you not!!

imo...in that role we need someone like a degoey/stringer...a bit of a bull, powerful player that can take grabs, has some burst and can break away from attempted tackles and kick goals

the closest weve currently got that i can see is concotta...we need more players like this guy, dynamic, powerful can kick both sides

throw in a player like that into the existing group and you have a very effective forward group.

owies, durdin and motts do well together

H and Charles as the talls

one dynamic bull to round out the group
