Because despite what everyone is saying, he's rubbish. Jack is barely effective but his heart smarts and ok ish pace make up for what he lacks.

Kennedy doesn't have forward IQ or any pace. What're you gonna do with him forward? He won't take a damaging player like Wilkie out of the game like Jack did, he won't stop a rebounding half back, he can't create separation on any defender. So do youplonk him at FF to do the job of a slow lumbering tall. He's not a full forward.

Kennedy is like dow, he's just a mid.
Can’t agree Matt K doesn’t have forward IQ - he has way more than most of the incumbents.

Hewett continuing to get games is pretty remarkable really. 6 kicks a game. Less than 100m gained per game. Zero goals. Well below average score involvements, score assists. Terrible defensive runner. Average pressure act player.

His 5 games this year = totally impotent.

Scratches head. Logs off for the night.

Nope. Rd 1 he was one of, if not our best.

But yes, since the hand injury he's been very average indeed...

There are so many that don't deserve a game right now though...

Kennedy, unlike Dow or some of our other forwards, is able to take a mark and he is a pretty good set shot as well.

he wasnt getting to too many opportunities from what i recall. his lack of pace limits his ability in the forward role too.

it would be good to know his goal kicking stats when he played in that role.

id assume his accuracy was good.

Good overhead. Straight kick. Stat away if you wish

williams mind/hands were super quick..and his body movement/baulking in close was also good

kennedy has good hands/kicking but is just too slow unfortunately...

when he gets his hands on the ball in the midfield often he cant get a hand pass out or run out into space with the ball as he is too often tackled/smothered.

Define what you mean by slow?

Acceleration? Point to point straight line speed?

I know Honey has been poor, but attribute wise you can see why they are giving him a run. Closing speed and clean hands. I want someone to tell him to be a bit selfish, if he gets a ground ball in the 50 take it on and have a shot rather than look for a handball
He looks very low on confidence at the moment which is a big concern. Him and Fisher really need to show a bit tomorrow as replacements are coming soon. Motlop available next week, Owies seems to be edging closer and I reckon Cotts could play the Fisher high half forward role - kicks goals but also a big upgrade defensively and from a pressure perspective.

The forward setup, structure and work rate is rubbish. Until this is addressed we aren’t going anywhere.

Whilst there are deficiencies in many areas, until the forward structure and work rate is addressed we will struggle.
I wonder what's gone wrong since the first 10 games last season, when the mids were also contributing to the score?

Lot of talk around coaching at the moment. Mostly wrong I think.
Fact is it's about time the players start really playing for each other and the jumper regardless of who the coach is.
I don't want to hear any more words from players or coaches about what they hope to do. As supporters all we have is hope but its a terrible word to hear from players and coaches. Lets have some action and a lot less words. Get the job done.
Just want the team out there to work much harder and take it serious.
Footy may not be life and death, it isn't, but when you step onto a sportsfield yeah it is for the duration. Has to be.

Trying hard not to be a goose.
Hahaha I never get over the size of Harry considering how fast he is and how well he collects the ball from the deck.. It's genuinely ridiculous. That's the 192cm Brodie Kemp next to him, it looks like me standing next to my 165cm missus (I'm 183cm)!!!

Hope Harry can impose himself on the game early and turn this form around. Or, play him like Richo up the field and have him kicking i50 to Charlie one out. Harry has more gifts than anyone else in our team, maybe more than any other athlete in the competition to be honest. Would be a huge tick this week if we can leverage him and maintain the clearance work we heavily improved on last week.

Agree but winning isn’t definitive or is it ? I’m nonplussed about our season so far . I guess we are building . Yep that’s it .

There should be much more switching of Harry and Charlie between FF in the square and roaming sweeper Harry has been tasked with making the get of goal mark muh more than Charlie. Harry's problem is that he is very fast - and his speed is being utilised down field much more than should be expected of a strike weapon that he is. It is just another example of weak forward line srtucture and weak alternatives - ridiculous that out of all the forwards playing only two can take a contested mark or hope to kick a goal from 35 meters out.

Yep I get what they can see - he needs to push to 3 x more contests - coasts around the outside too much.

His first touch is quality - might be better inside rather than flanking.

Look I'm thrilled with Doc and Saad in and also to see Kemp get a chance but........dropping Kennedy when we are crying out for a 3rd/4th marking option inside 50 when he can also rotate on ball and keeping Ed and Hewett in is mind blowing.

Getting worried with TDK as well, I think we look better with the two rucks and this week could have been a great chance to try him forward and see what damage he can do.

Think most of our scores were from clearance dominance -- we had some injuries and sides worked out how to ring our clearance by handball where we would run it fwd 50 kick deep and which in turn forced us to kick from clearance - poor execution shallow entry easy rebound game over
