Mcadam and newchurch were in the rehab group for much of pre
Season. There were obvious problems with his fitness levels which is a pity because he has star power and best 22 when fit.

If it came down to burgess and fitness staff and favouring Shane I would have to go to the former.

Obviously there was an issue here about his professionalism on an ongoing basis. Standards need to be met and kept

Pity but a parting of the ways has occurred

McAdam will fit in with some of the Dee’s players so called lack of professional standards

I think the Swans have but with the age of Grundy and Adams it will want to be an instant sugar hit..
And the types (or age bracket) of players we've been targeting are much longer lasting, but also harder to pry out. The list of elite, or elite potential players in the 22-25 age bracket who are moving teams this year makes for short reading.

We don’t seem to be interested in the over 27 yo market yet …. In the end I feel it will be important to add one or two pieces in that market when we are right in the perceived window

Like Collingwood and Geelong did

Yep, at a certain point, maybe even next year if Sloane, Walker and Smith leave we may need to look there, but doesn't look to be a major priority at the moment.

Wow I thought all the Petty talk was just wishful thinking but after seeing the golf date interview he does not want to be there - they should trade while the big offer is on the table, because at some point he is coming back to SA.

Wudinna bakery is calling.

Wow that interview was illuminating… Dees board now saying to trade his arse tomorrow. This golf outing being captured by news outlets would have been entirely premeditated. Will he even exert effort next year if he stays with them 💀

judging by his little interview sizzler for 9 Petty could not be more gone. Not talking about this year in particular, just long term. I'd be terrified if I was a Melbourne fan, was grim viewing.
like seriously "that was Melbourne's decision" god damn that's cooooooold

We should go for Petty and Oliver tomorrow with a quantity discount on damaged goods. ;)

It's been all very confusing. Could the early talk of us being into Oliver actually have been is into Petty?

Or is all this just media speculation and we aren't into anyone

Yep, a bunch of fringe players and no real big guns….they would have hoped Oliver decided to ask for a trade.

Trade period is for the clubs and fringe players. Its not a particular exercise in fan pleasing because clubs often keep their cards close to their chest at this time of year. I dont understand why if there are no blockbuster trades the AFL should be upset? The current trading set up of creating easier trading pathways for players to change clubs was an AFLPA initiative. Also Trade period is for fringe players to change clubs. Its never been designed for contracted star players to walk to the club of their choice.
