We get to keep the 2 extra list spots for another year but I think we also increased our list with long-term injury additions so I think this means we can take 8 players through trade, national draft, pre-season draft and rookie draft. Sounds like we are in the market for at least 3 ready made players over the next couple of weeks so we would then take up to 5 players in the draft.
I think we can take 10 players through trade.
Not having the additional rookie spots meant that we'd have to lose 2 extras.
Its 1 in -1 out now.

How do you propose to end up with picks 2 3 5 and 8?

P5 GC = all 3 priority picks and no bids on their players

P7 GWS = Haynes contract + F2

P8 GEE = Picks 15 & 20

= Picks 2,3,5,7,8,40

McKercher
Watson
Sanders/ Curtin
O'Sullivan
Caddy
Project ruck (Goad/ Green?)

I’d give up 2&3 for Oliver.
What? We already have to manage Wardlaw's hamstrings after investing a high draft pick in him, which I'm fine with. I'm not even remotely interested in investing double Wardlaw's draft capital to recruit a player on a huge salary with a dodgy hamstring. Whilst the Warlord investment is fine, that type of investment in Oliver most definitely is NOT! I want to use either 2 or 3 on McKercher. Under no circumstances should we be letting go of both 2 and 3 as part of any deals.

I thought we'd have to lose 4 spots - the 2 extra rookie spots plus the 2 tops ups through LTI. And now it's just 2. Happy to be wrong about that.

P7 GWS = Haynes contract + F2 Not happening

P8 GEE = Picks 15 & 20 Maybe

So we have now lost the following:

Ben Cunnington (ret)
Jacob Edwards (del)
Todd Goldstein (FA)
Aaron Hall (ret)
Daniel Howe (ret)
Ben McKay (FA)
Flynn Perez (del)
Phoenix Spicer (del)
Lachie Young (del)
Jack Ziebell (ret)

Any others?
So if 10 green bottles should accidentally fall there will be 36 green bottles sitting on the wall 1696310608094.jpeg

Oliver’s hamstrings would be the least of our problems we would have to worry about ….
Believe me when I say that his exact 10 week “hamstring injury “ was not exactly all what the media & AFL disclosed.

My Left Foote

By not bidding on GC players they get Walter at pick 4 instead of 2 and Reid at pick 9 instead of 5 which works out to be the points equivalent of an additional pick 20.

I know the Bulldogs have 3 picks on the table but I assume they might be requesting a lesser pick coming back their way.

I think it's competitive.

But yes, there is a touch of wishful thinking involved.

In my opinion WC will give up pick 1, only having 1and 20 is a bad hand to rebuild with.
They need to get multiple kids through the door asap.

In addition to this they’re trying to convince Deven Robertson home, they’re going to need draft picks to do it.
They can dip into next year and offer a future 2nd but again that only leave them with 1 pick next year.

I think they need to trade 1 otherwise it could increase the length of the rebuild.

Edit: And Brockman
