Well, I'd rather trade 2 & 3 for Oliver than Reid, one is a surefire bet and been probably the best player in the comp for the last 5 seasons.

I'd also rather unload that capital on Oliver than Darcy.
Oliver, LDU, TT, Wardlaw, Jye, Phillips, Powell, Zurhaar..
that midfield looks right to go next year

They need to keep the news cycle spinning. Not a lot storywise otherwise.

Biggest stories are McKay and compo, Pick 1 keep or Trade, Oliver now…

Not NMFC-relevant but I'm predicting a Twitter trade account will declare Nathan Broad wants to be traded to West Coast or Freo.

On the basis that his wife has posted on Instagram about building a house in Perth.

Jed Adcock to be added to us as an assistant coach

I've never been convinced the AFL wants another team, and putting a huge condition on it is evidence of that.

Here is circa a billion dollar barrier to entry you need to solve before you can use that licence we gave you.

Kinda like going to Vicroads, passing your test only for them to say you are completely licenced but restricted to only driving Maybachs.

To compare apples to apples

Carrara had a $126m upgrade in 2009
Sydney showgrounds stadium had a $65m upgrade in 2012

If the AFL we full on into standing the Tassie team up ASAP rather than a $700m+ barrier to entry, they could spend half that and upgrade both UTas and Bellrieve.

both more feasible and easier to complete and would support a whole of Tas presence rather than a Hobart focused one.

Not saying it won't eventually get done but it is a steep price of entry. I do think the timeline is unachievable though.

Ralph yesterday, breathlessly: Have you HEARD. Essendon are TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS short on their contract offer for McKay! North might have to ACCEPT an end of first rounder. Nathan Buckley says Essendon are NOT HERE to make Norths life easier! SCANDAL and ROT

Ralph today, circumspectly: There is a clause which means what I wrote yesterday is incorrect and there is NO NEED TO BE ALARMED

What a donut
save dunkin donuts GIF

Is that proclamation in your capacity as Premier of Tasmania ? The AFL are a player in this game but don't set the rules. Agree it is likely but think the timeframe is much more fluid than is presently thought. Temporary stadiums in Hobart and Launceston is also very likely IMO. Licence is contingent on a stadium so all possibilities still available at the moment.
No it's proclamation of the current Tassie Premier as well as the AFL didn't grant a licence and the fanfare to come with it only to do a massive U-turn.
Yes the stadium is an issue but as l continually read, the people wants the team and they already have a board so the timeframe is pretty much set.
I agree with you that the this stadium clause could be a sticking point and l personally didn't like this clause to grant a licence which, imo, will be the first of many compromises.

Irrespective, heed the warnings of the past when drafting talents like McKercher, Sander etc...when this Tassie team are allowed to start drafting and list building, the big carrot will be dangled at home grown players like those who played in this current Allies side...it's just a question of what compo's will clubs get at the end of it.

I think McKercher compliments us more than anyone else in the top 10.

Reid across half back is close, but McKercher's speed and running power is a ridiculous cherry on top to Wardlaw and LDU.

As you said, his constant running power is the other thing. Wardlaw and LDU are not great endurance athletes. McKercher would compliment that really well, as well as mainting the speed around stoppage.

McKercher runs a 960 Yo-Yo, which is higher than Sheezel last year, who was an endurance animal on Olly Hollands level. We saw how well Sheezel did deep in games when others couldn't.

You are getting that with McKercher a 30+ disposal game a midfielder that runs all day, likely 4+ clearances, with breakaway speed that gets between the arcs and kicks goals.

He's basically Caleb Serong with LDU's footspeed.
Agree with you 100pct, look at Bailey Scotts last couple of years,,,,thats been all built on gut running. We need more guys who can run all day and even better if they have an elite turn of speed.

Honestly, you don't have to worry about all the permutations, Brady is "hopefully" unlikely checking BF for ideas. If we trade for pick 1 we trade for it, if we don't we don't.
Brady just interviewed : " Look we were a bit stuck for ideas on how to approach the trade period. I asked Al and Todd and they gave me donuts and suddenly lo and behold it came to me ! BigFooty is the place to resurrect the mighty NMFC - so I scrolled through about 1000 pages of absolute shite but there were some trades and players we had never even thought about. What a bit of genius that was to hit up our faithful Football intellectuals. So whatever happens from now on they can be happy in that all of our trades and picks came from there although that won't come as a surprise to most of them " Ends.

Current is the problematic qualifier

If Melbourne were actually willing to trade their best player with 7 years remaining on his contract at age 26 I'd be somewhat suspicious.

Wouldn't have anything to do with the 12 week """"hamstring injury"""" would it

There were definitely rumours of some nefarious activities being the reason Clarry took so long to recover....but those rumours might have just been on here. Can't remember. Something was odd with all of that though
