Exactly, the guy must be really damaged goods and on top of that GoDees wanting multiple first rounders is ludicrous.
Yep, if they've put him up for sale it should be considered a buyer's market. The best I'd do is a swap of future firsts and maybe give them a future second to sweeten the deal. Even then I'd be worried we might have overpaid.

Thoughts with The acurate one at this difficult time.

On the plus side this stops TAO virtually trading pick #2 for him.

I’m more than ok with Darling.

Actually like it .

And exactly my point.
While we wouldn't want to overpay for Darling, it hurts to imagine we dismiss the chance to pick up Reid in the same bundle. We can't be careless but we have done some dumb things in recent trading. Ignore this opportunity and we could find ourselves in even deeper water.

That might have been ok in the 80s but I don't think anyone gets away with it now.
After what we've been through this year with TT, to even fleetingly consider taking on someone else's problem for 3 or even 2 first rounders would be the most irresponsible thing the club has done for years.

Literally insane

Us having 2 and 3 is a major stumbling block to any Oliver trade getting done in my opinion.
It prevents WC from wanting to trade down unless they get 2 and that stops Melb getting Reid.

We just need to hold and let everybody get desperate and see what deals are offered to us, if one is massive overs we take it.

Oh boy woweee it’s all happening.
Footy equivalent of NQR is what we have in front of us.
Oliver higher than jezza
Darling is akin to where’s Wally when the heat is on in games
Darcy is in the midst of ‘all you can eat ‘ October

Don’t trade all our resources to get Reid but do trade them all for damaged goods

With some of these too good to be true trade opportunities, you have to refer back to Leigh Colbert. And while he was a great servant of the club, we overpaid and we set Geelong up for their dynasty. That was easier to cop after we'd just bagged a second premiership and when our draft hand wasn't great to begin with, but you wouldn't want to do it after 4 years in the bottom 2 and when we finally have a good draft hand.

After BBB I can imagine Brady sitting in a room getting a call from a husky voiced Melbourne man, um so Oliver has just informed us he wants a trade to North, what do you say pick 2 and it’s a done deal.

Brady sits back lights a cigar, paybacks a bitch, all I have to offer is a PP f1.

Hello Shinboners!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

I know Tim Lamb pretty well.

He's an ex-major crimes detective before being Luke Beveridge's right hand man in his VAFA flags, he left the police force and moved into football full time following it.

Doesn't pull any punches and fair to say has his fair share of interview experience and techniques for new draftee's, they can't pull the wool over his eyes and he doesn't tend to shirk neogotiations.

I'm not the only one who sees through the facade Melbourne are probably putting up right? If they really wanted to offload someone there wouldn't be this much slander getting out to the public. The fact that the cap hits are mentioned in articles as well read to me it's a Treloar 2.0 situation, they want to offload Oliver's contract and similar to Treloar in 2020, they'll do whatever it takes to get him out.

We'll be the home for the mentally and physically infirm and pay top price for the privilege.

Picking up Oliver makes very little sense.

This is coming from someone who would rate him in the top 10 players in the comp.

I'm hesitant to draft more midfielders, each one we draft is just using 1 pick. If we trade for Oliver we're going to have to give up decent draft capital. Our midfield is fine.

We shouldn't be anywhere near this one.

I agree, however, I would consider it IF there is a substantial discount due to his ridiculous contract. I want to **** them like they ****ed us with Brown, a real fire sale offer. There is no way anyone is going to offer anything remotely close to market value. If they want him off the books and he comes cheap it means we don't have to play someone like Greenwood in the short-term, Jy can go back to half forward and there would be less pressure on the younger players.

If our starting midfield was: Oliver, Wardlaw, LDU with Thomas and Sheezel on the wings that would be nuts. I hope Phillips and Powell come on, but it would be far easier for them to learn and develop having more elite talent and a better structure around them.

This assumes we can manage/handle the offield stuff with both Thoma and Oliver. High risk, high reward. Potential for it to go bad.
