Darling for a year is fine. On full salary or otherwise. Even if he's half cooked he'd do more than [404 ERROR PLAYER NOT FOUND] who is our only other KPF help for Larkey.

If a salary dump cheapens the trade cost for 1 then that's awesome. But I'm not sure WC would exactly be itching for cap space, so feels a bit like a moot point to even discuss the trade possibility. But hey stranger things have happened. Like Goldy playing for Essendon, or McKay getting us pick 3.

Well they did finish premier's that year and the AFL applied the same herbs and spices to come up with the compo
Which makes complete sense. They've now just followed the same approach that they did 10 years ago. And all the years in between.
Yet the Hawks muppets now have their panties in a twist.

Also every chance he does become the best player in this draft, just like the kid picked at 2,3,4,5 etc all could be busts too.

The recruiters have been watching these kids longer than us. With a big win last year with our hand, let’s back them in if they have decided Reid is the one they want.
But that 25% of him being the best player is almost doubled by having two shots at 2 and 3.

I have quoted this numerous times, but the classic old racing parlance suits here with the Hawks, "Always back self interest, because at least you know it's trying"

And I understand why people are shitty at Mckay getting us pick 3, but acting like it's a scandal is stupid. It's literally just the rules in effect, rules that have been used for what, a decade?

People should be shitty at Hawthorn, * , and Sydney for putting lucrative contracts in front of him.

People tying themselves in knots to come up with a deal for pick 1. Giving up multiple picks is bad but if we get a player in return, etc. Bonus points if it's a salary dump.
If North is not totally invested in Reid then No way we should engage early with West Coast as to a pick swap. We should hold-off playing our cards until 5 minutes before the draft. WC will be sweating over the Reid/Curtin pick. 0nce WC have picked, we then hold the power to enter into discussions with other clubs about what they would cough up for 2. North is now in a powerful position to shape the whole draft and maximise our range of top 10 picks.

The only way that I see us trading 2 & 3 is if we are getting 1 and another top 7 pick back in a 3 team deal.

2 + 3 is a monumental overpay.
WC can stick Reid in a bottom team for for 5 years. Number 1 draft picks and their managers are a little smarter these days. Your going to draft me to the worst team in the comp and I'm a superstar already? I'll leave like JHF. WC will trade Reid for picks like we should have for JHF. North wil get Reid and Duursma. Lock it in, we have the picks to get it done. And Curtin in draft reviews in 5 years time will probably be the revised number 1 pick, he's a 195cm game changer.

Seen you guys getting with twists over 2 and 3 for pick 1 but you have to remember you aren’t trading for pick 1 in a usual year, this year it’s Reid who’s the most highly sought after draftee probably ever, also look what Gold Coast got for pick 4, three firsts 2 of which are likely top 10, eagles will probably demand too much tho so hopefully your club doesn’t offer something silly like 2,3 and something else
