I would have been thrilled to get pick 19 for McKay as it would have been because we just won the premiership.

We got exactly the same, Band 1 compo. It happens to be pick 3 cause we suck.

Reid looks a gun, no doubt. Id love him but we shouldnt overpay.

Someone on hawks board did the last 10 years and 3 years 1 was prolly in front, on 2 occasions it was a close call with ironically the kelly draft the only real stand out.

Yeh I also watched his underage year which is considered by twomey to be possible the best underage year anyone’s had, if u wanna go by votes sanders would be pick 1 but alas it doesn’t work like that, vic country were nowhere near the allies this season,

but you have to remember you aren’t trading for pick 1 in a usual year, this year it’s Reid who’s the most highly sought after draftee probably ever,

I know this is your first pick 1 and it's really exciting but this is said about a lot of pick 1s. It just means more to you now because it's your pick 1. And they are almost never the best player from their draft pool once they move to AFL level.

Reid is a phonemonal talent but the hype started back in 2022 has caused Walter, McKercher, Duursma and even Sanders to fly under the radar. While statistics aren't everything they are all statistically better than Reid.

Also, if North had pick 1 and Walter was in the open draft I would pick him every day of the week.

That high in the draft order and trading 2+3 for 1 is stupid just from a risk mitigation point of view I would have thought. Reid blows his knee out or something and loses significant ability then you're just ****ed, don't do the trade and it happens to one of the two kids then at least the other one is probably still going fine.

I remember watching one of this seasons practice matches at Arden st. McKay looked disinterested already, and Gibbo was in the pocket shouting at him for more effort, and coaching him on seemingly simple things.

That was when I lost interest in him playing for us. Clearly checked out, gave less of a stuff than I did.

Fair enough but Walter isn’t open that’s why I haven’t bothered mentioning him, about pick 1 and Reid I really think north will just take their picks to the draft, maybe trading the two future end of firsts for picks this draft, Geelongs pick 7(8) is for sale maybe that gets you mckercher, Curtin and sanders?

After a brief chat today we are definitely taking the son of Kercher, that can be locked in. Probably means no Watto Wizard Watson. With the amount the Wizard Watto Watson was jammed down our throats on this board I did afford myself wry smile.

So suppose it will be the Reid/McKercher double act.

Surely the best draft prospect ever, who is already built like a 25 year old, would dominate his age group this year, though.

The reality is that he's the number 1 prospect but not close to the hype that you are bringing. He's ahead of McKercher and Sanders but only by a little bit.

They usually don’t send their best into the eye I’d the storm but think we deserve better than this.
You keep Reid and he’ll be the one top 25 pick you’ll bring into your star studded lineup

Yeah exactly. It is doing my head in, the number of posts wasted on arguing whether 1 is better than 2 and 3. Nobody is trading 1 for 2 and 3.

Yep, our aim should be gc pick 11 and go into the draft with 2,3 11 & 15. Get the best 2 with 2 & 3 and then hopefully address needs with 11 & 15.
