There has to be a deal that could be worked out between NM, WC and GC that would suit all 3 parties if we want Reid and WC want two first rounders.
North 2,3, 11(assistance), 14
WC 1,19
GC 4
Not bidding on GC players also adds additional value as well as future picks.
Who is the suns list boss?
You’d think Clayton might’ve had some pretty open lines of communication.

Bill and Ben must be starting to struggle to fill the time allotment. How many times can they regurgitate the same stuff?

You know Purple, Terry Wallace and Fireman Sam do trade radio?
It seems as long as they need to

This totally. I'm 53 and have been phoning it in at my job for years. Then working from home became a thing and everyone was doing it, so I had to find new and inventive ways to be half-arsed.
Fix Wikipedia then

Cal Twomey saying that special access to Sanders is no longer on the cards, and pick 11 is looking like the preferred option now.

He expressed the view that there is a decent likelihood we'll go after pick 4 with picks 11 and 14.

From about 21.30 in gettable

That'd give us 2,3 and 5.

Some hand.

I also wonder what kind of player we could shake loose on the trade table with one of those picks.

A bloody good one.

I thought that tweet was from Gettable that Twomey does with the other bloke?

It just seems if any of them want to, they can stretch things out indefinitely

Is that (Sanders access) AFL driven or Sanders driven? From the article with his Dad it sounded like he wanted to be picked up not bid on and was choosing the open draft, which would mean shunning us. Reckon the Sanders camp got word from the AFL or vice versa? If Sanders turned his back on North then I don’t want to draft him. If it was not from Sanders and he wants to come to North then I’d be happy to pick him up.

The people who authorise the budget for his salary and who decide on our assistance package?

Though tbf I'm not sure he used the word "preferred" - that was me paraphrasing.

He did say Sanders was "no longer on the table" and launched into a discussion of how pick 11 would benefit North by allowing us to climb up the draft.

Yeah maybe, though we could probably do that with 11 and 14 too.

2, 3, 5 = Curtin, McKercher, Watson? Hard to argue with that.

Nobody worth it is coming to a side like ours at the moment unless we ridiculously overpay.l in both contract terms and capital.

Much rather just take one of the strongest hands to the draft in recent years.

2023 retirees - McAsey, Seedsman, Adams, Rich, Curnow, McDonald-Tipungwuti, Phillips, Ceglar, Smith, Blakely, Davis, Lloyd, Lynch, Hibberd, Cunners, Ziebs, Hall, Jonas, Castagna, Cotchin, Riewoldt, Tarrant, Franklin, Hickey, McCartin, Hurn, Naitanui, Shuey, Bruce.

Based on nothing more than their leadership as players, viewed from afar I'd consider - Smith, Davis, Cotchin, Hurn and Shuey. No idea whether any of them already have plans.

From 2022 - Again just based on their playing record and apparent leadership - Mundy, Selwood, Gray, Kennedy x 2, McEvoy perhaps, Shane Edwards.
No idea if he's interested in coaching, but wouldn't be against Tarrant coming in as a defensive coach.

Solid player for us in that role, and having 2 years at another club allows him to bring in some outside perspective.

You’d have to think the family was involved in discussions.

could very well be the solution. gets us sanders (unless hawthorn are dicks) while still trying to appease other clubs as GC won't take players with 11 and 14.

plus we still hold 2 and 3 lol

I suspect that is the scenario that's being orchestrated here.

Then we'll have 2,3 and a future 1st to play with potentially.
