They might not care because they are moving either way if he goes for an offer similar to theirs, may as well get the player to compensate. He goes to Essendon or Sydney and they move to 4 and get nothing for their trouble.

I do see where you’re coming from, not sure I agree that dodging consequences equates to being well run though. I’d be surprised if there wasn’t some action against them at some stage down the line, draft picks or financial penalties or something. I digress though, I have no clue what Benny is doing
