Only reason Goldy would leave is if he was told he wasn’t wanted
3rd (possibly 4th) hand info I've been given is that he was told very early this year that playing on in 2024 would require a change of clubs.
Looks like that sentiment might have changed if it's true we've offered him a contract, but he has acquaintances who were telling a different story not that long ago.

Hunter Clark and Zac Fisher are hacks. Simple. End of. Why would we waste our time?

On the drink this morning mate?.
Its overs, but not by as much as people are making out.

If there are legitimate concerns about whether Curtin becomes a key defender, and the top of our draft board are just mids like McKercher and medium forwards like Duursma, I reckon there's a case there.

May went for pick 6, Lever went for 2 first rounders. Cox is a top 10 key defender too, worth a top 10 pick in his right imo. He's the kind of player you could build a backline around for six or seven years.

He's also nowhere to be seen on any of the rich 100 lists, which suggests he might be on a lowballed offer under 600k. Logue is probably on more than him. Freo has been losing players at a weird clip for some reason, and stagnating on the ladder - something doesn't seem right in their camp.

Also Henry would be worth at least pick 25. In terms of points, picks 8 + 25 equals pick 3.

So like I said, overs, but I don't reckon its astronomically off-the-mark.

What about we trade 2 and port pick to Gold Coast for 4 next years first and Elijah hollands. Gets them a pick before Walter bid we get an extra first rounder next year and drop the port one that will be lost with the sanders bid anyway.

Apparently GWS don't even want to give up a pick
I read it as they wont give away their top pick without something in return.
Which is why i threw out there the possibility of trading 2 and 3 to WC for 1 and 19. Then 19 on traded to GWS for Haynes and pick 6.
For us picks 2 and 3 turn into pick 1 and 6 plus Haynes.

But only if push comes to shove with WC as pick 6 could be dangerous for us if Sanders is picked early and if not we could still potentially miss out on O'Sullivan there. But we'd be a huge chance to get one of O'Sullivan or Watson at 6.

Im not sure pick 2 and 16 for 1 and 19 from WC gets it done and i doubt we'll want to give up 2 picks for one in the first round. Maybe some swap of later picks in their favor works for them in this scenario as we're probably more interested in point values of later picks.

Gold Coast key forward Chris Burgess is also said to be looking for a new club. Back to back Frosty Miller medals. I can think of a previous Frosty Miller medal winner who isn't that bad. Worth considering?
Would be a good KP depth option IMO. Gives his all and can play back as well.

Try and nab Caleb Graham in the same deal with GC and get a developing KPD at the same time.

You didn’t watch our games this year? You don’t think they could squeeze 2 blokes out of a team that lost 20 in a row?

They could. But that's a low recruiting bar: "They're rubbish, but not as rubbish as the rubbish we have." Gotta think more creatively and long term than that.

Agree with this in principle but we're not magically going to be trading in top end talent, so as long as any players coming in via trade incrementally improve our list for the next few years I'm okay with that.

Will Brodie. Get him for a packet of chips. Mature body in the guts.
