Understand the sentiment but unfortunately I don’t think we are in a position to attract peak Andrew McLeod or Corey Enright types to play off half back without coughing up significant draft capital. If you are creative enough to get A grade talent to a basket case of a club at minimal cost you truly will live up to your username :)

Who said anything about A-grade talent? I was talking about not recruiting players who were a higher grade of rubbish.

Someone mentioned Mason Wood - exactly what I'm talking about. Not A-grade, not rubbish, delisted free agent, lots of upside, creatively given a specific role that a new club saw a need for, made his team better.

Unfortunately he was walked out the door instead of in it.

Bit in that Cal Twomey clip about Brodie, basically that inside mids rarely move because teams don’t need many of them and most are well enough stocked - Mitchell to Collingwood a rare example of one going to where there was a gap.

So how has he been? When he gets a chance... which have been limited

12 months ago I would have agreed with those who thought he was done.

Assuming it’s got something to do with getting his body right as his style of play has traditionally been taxing physically.

Basically he’s moving better and his intercept game is back - he’s always used it well if pretty conservatively.

4th rounders

Edit and get Clark to take sheezels spot in the backline - he’s slow but can use it and find it.
Cant be slow. Pies showed in the first half how valuable fast gut running flankers are. Won them the game, that and Melbourne's goal kicking. It torches teams on transition with much easier avenues to goal.

Quick of mind is the key. Daicos, Sheezel, Pendlebury and Sidebottom are all average or below average speed. The quickness of their mind is the key. I know you are talking about flankers. To prove my point: Shaun Atley.

Christian Moraes is an absolute freak and would be a perfect complement to our inside brigade.

Would be sitting top 10 right now and I'd have him closer to top 5. He's Mckercher mk2.

I'll predict the question 'why don't we just take Mckercher this year then?' - because there's a variety of different types in this year's draft (Watson + Curtin in particular) that aren't in next year's top end as of righ

Breath of fresh air to see someone talking about future drafts and how they stack up against our list balance. Props mate.

Hawthorn board are saying that Clarko wants Scrimshaw. Not sure if it has been discussed in here.

Went out of his way to recruit and develop him there.
