Ginnivan would be an outstanding pickup. Imagine the Pies would want a lot for him though.

Nah, it's not that.

Daniel was the highest rated player by Champion Data in his under 18 year (due to his skills). But, he didn't have the X-factor or genuine generational traits of Watson, and was never rated as a top 3 prospect.

The fact he slid to pick 45 was still criminal though. In hindsight, all the signs were there that he was a top 20 selection, but he was judged because of his size.

It’s the same reason Dylan Moore slid to us. Was ranked top 15 or so on the draft night

Dougal or McKay would change our team. We havent had defenders like them since Chip and Lake. I like Blanck but he is still a couple of years off, plus you really need two of these guys (Chip+Lake, Ballard+Collins, May+Petty, Andrews+Payne)

Also regarding the McKay criticism, it's not fair to judge someone who hasn't had a chance to play in an AFL system yet.

The short sightedness in here sometimes is ridiculous.

Remember when Henderson wouldn’t make a difference? Or Impey? Or Hale? Gibson?

The club knows what players have the scope to improve with us and make us better, just like that lot above did.


And before any clown mentions Vickery, we had to bring him in when we only had 2 fit rucks on the list heading into the following season, with one of them being a kid.

The thought process by the majority that every move needs to be a star and if it isn’t a stud player then it’s horrible and hated is what helps me get through the last few weeks of a season though.

It also makes me laugh heading into draft period.

The reality is that while person x doesn’t rate a McKay or Esava or whoever else the team is linked to they are linked to them for a reason, not to drive up the price for other teams like is mentioned over and over, it’s because the guys who are paid to do this for a living see something in them that can help this team improve

Also while I’m on a heater…a team isn’t going to give a player away for less because we feel they “owe us one”

The fact he can enrage the opposition and opposition supporters is just a bonus.
