This is getting silly. Now we are losing players we dont even have!

2024 trade period is another year away, we could lose a player for a high pick, buy some picks or trade 2025 picks. If Smith want to come here in 12 months it gets done. Trading a F1 isn't 'trading Smith'.

I wanted to include a player from next years draft but I'll be honest i have nfi haha.

Wouldn't mind Lewis Young from the doggies...is he gettable?
EDIT - from the blues I mean...too much noise in the background

Which other clubs are speculated to be making offers for #1? North, Dees?

Any chance we can get a stupidly good return on pick 4 or our future first, to help some other club pay overs for pick 1?
Hawks
North
Melbourne
Eagles
Suns

These are the 5 teams that have been making contact with Reid.

Suns moving 4 in an attempt to trade up to 1 is something that could happen too

Not necessarily, they might be traded to another Melbourne club and the pick could be part of the Reid trade.

I don't want to lose any of them either, particularly cmac i think he will end up they best of the lot, but if you want generational talent, you have to pay.

We wouldn't be making that move for a generational talent. We'd be making it for a kid with elite traits.

As other posters have said, this isn't 23 year old Chris Judd.

I think Harley will be a star, but I also expected more from Jason-Horne Francis than we've seen to this point.

I also didn't expect this much from Nick Daicos.

There is no way to guenatee how a player will transfer to the AFL system.

I honestly don't think there is one footballer in league history I'd trade 3 top 10 picks for, which is what is being suggested. Maybe Buddy after 08.
And we're talking a draftee here, not even an established player!

I am not sure why everyone is so worked up when certain player is mentioned as involved in trading for pick-1. Why we forget that this is the most successful club in winning premierships in the last 50 years. If the club decides that Ward or CMac or anyone should be sacrificed and we should give 3 and F1 and a player so be it. I will wholeheartedly support it.
Trust in the club people - they have a plan and it has worked so far. No need to get too imotional.

I would, especially if those 3 top 10 picks end up Thorp, Dowler, DGB.

I am not the list manager. I am just wondering if clubs are making offers for pick 6. Apparently they are for pick 4 , pick 7.
I’m sure they are. There’s seemingly a consensus top 5 excluding Walter so your pick falls just outside the top tier below Harley so it’s not going to attract the offers everyone up to pick 4 will get. All picks will move back one when north get compo pick 3

Just a reminder, the young mid that needs to be thrown in doesn't necessarily have to go to eagles. There are now not two but three clubs asking with their top 10 picks on the table. Doesn't mean it's happening but that's the price for pick 1!

Of course everybody would, but that's in hindsight.

That pick 3, pick 7 and future first rounder could also be Connor Rozee, Jordan Lewis and Patrick Dangerfield if we use hindsight. Has there been any pick 1 better than those 3 players collectively?

I am fine with this, Reid will be ripe for picking in 2-3 years.

North will have 1 & 5( not 4). So we pick Watson with 4, North take McKercher with 5

North - Reid
WCE - Curtin
Ess - Durrsma
Haw - Watson
North - Mckercher

Suns - Walter (bid match can happen from 1-4)

Will save Hawks from making any outlandish trades.

PS : if WCE are happy with 2+8 then they will be happy with 3+One gun player or F1 ( no need for both)
Agree with almost all of that although they will want one of norths futures and a later pick for their nga. Those picks very valuable can be used for f1s as ports is available, crows and lions have FS etc

I can point to those 3 picks being Buddy, Lewis and Cyril as well.

It is clear you are simping for Reid as are a few other fans. You guys will promote massive overs.

All Eagles have to do is keep rejecting and you guys will keep adding to the offer. Don't think you guys have a limit.

I am pleased the club is not thinking this way but I fear they may get infected with such ideas.

PS : lot of the talk DGB down hottakes we saw earlier was also from Reid simps IMO trying to make it easy to accept a trade involving him.

If that happens and north take Reid 1,eagles curtain and 2, dons duursma at 3, I wonder if we'd grab Watson at 4 before north's next pick.
Would leave us a choice of Watson or McKercher we can’t lose. Unless we lose. Our minds.
