If they had pick 2 in the draft, I'm confident they'd take McKercher over Curtin. Desperately need mids.
Do they?
I feel like their midfield is one of the few areas they've developed depth.
I think they'd take McKercher, but I think it'd be more because they need more class through there.

Shuey retired, Yeo and Gaff potentially on the way out, Kelly 30 next year.
I agree they've developed what they have well (they nearly always do), but they need a shitload more high end talent in there.

As much as I'd love Harley, our best offer of pick 3 & our future 1st isn't going to be enough to sway the eagles.

Bring in Chol & Duursma and hopefully that fixes our forward line issues.

For those that are hesitant about trading our future 1st because if we get injuries it may be pick 1..we could field the box hill team and they'd be better than the eagles and roos.

Rodney Eade has said all year on the Footyology podcast that the Eagles won't let the local prodigy get past them. They want Curtin. That's not to say they don't want Reid, or that they'll accept unders in a trade, but there will likely be an eye-watering offer made that guarantees them Curtin + one or two other good picks and they'll walk away happy.

The answer to the first question is no. We could get pick 7 for Day or Newcombe, but not Worpel.

The answer to the second is yes.
Worpel at the start of this year we wouldn't have had a chance in hell at getting 7 for. Worpel at the end of this year, after the season he's had, we could. He'd be a 10 year piece for Geelong and their midfield is desperate for him, we might need to throw something extra but it could happen.

People gnash their teeth about draft picks but at Pick 7 in the last 10 years only Jacob Hopper has even been in the AA40, if Worp continues to perform at this year's level he's exactly the player you'd hope for at that pick.

I agree in some senses. But as I've bolded, I think Worps has been too up and down over his career to take for a pick that could deliver you O'Sullivan, Caddy or even Sanders.

Maybe with pick 30, however, a deal could get done. Would prefer Worpel to stay though.

He lives in the UK - he’s used to seeing UK prices and having to multiply them by 2 to figure out the AUD equivalent.
I don’t bother anymore. After coming back last year for this first time since covid no multiplier can get prices to be the ridiculous level of Australia. That except for petrol couldn’t believe how cheap it was relatively speaking.

I really don’t think they want to take Harley.

There’s been a belief amongst AFL clubs all year that he is a flight risk if he goes to WA.

They don't want to. North don't want to take Curtin either for the very same reason.

This game of bluff is like two people pointing unloaded guns at each other. Or better yet, it's like this:

Wow hasn’t this thread gone downhill? To the minority in regards to kosi and Brockman, I’ll quote the stones:
“We can’t always get what we want”

What we do get we can use, for other trades and or pick matching. Which is way better than having a sook and getting nothing by sending them to the PSD.

So it’s time to put the toys back in the cot and sooking about what if’s, life is too short for that s**t
Hahaha I think you have got your wires crossed about who is having the sook! The mere mention of the PSD seems to give the Kleenex are good workout.

For some reason I thought you were talking about North- WCE desperate for high end everywhere, McKercher and Curtin would go a long way for them

Makes sense! God the last thing NM need is more midfielders.

Curtin + Watson/Durrsma makes so much sense for them, but they're $1.01 odds on to take McKercher...
