I'd say Day and newcombe are worth two first round picks. Similar to the shiel or treloar trades
Of course they'd be worth pick 7+, but was more to say that Worps doesn't have that currency for a number of reasons.

D'Ambrosio, Chol. I'm wondering how these deals get done exactly. Massimo is probably worth whatever Brockman is worth: both out-of-contract youngsters who were speculative picks but have shown something at senior level. Chol is a funny one, being under contract but with GC seemingly happy to let him go. He could be a steal.

Rodney Eade has said all year on the Footyology podcast that the Eagles won't let the local prodigy get past them. They want Curtin. That's not to say they don't want Reid, or that they'll accept unders in a trade, but there will likely be an eye-watering offer made that guarantees them Curtin + one or two other good picks and they'll walk away happy.
Sorry for repeating my opinion again but North will not go anywhere near Curtin and this is the reason that Eagles are worried about Hawks taking Curtin. As said before sleepy Mark should just tell Eagles that we are going to take Curtin and then go back to sleep for a week. Things will workout automatically thereafter.

That would be a dream.

30, Brockman and DGB - appropriate upside for WCE. Doesn’t cut into our draft capital or talent base too much.

Pick 3, Brocky and DGB.

You trade this to WCE with a gentleman’s agreement that IF North take Curtain, we’ll trade back in and take the 3(4) for our F1 (+/- swaps). (i.e. their option, they don’t have to of course)

As I’ve said before with people saying north would threaten to take Curtin, if any club were to say ‘deal with us or we’ll take Curtin’ the eagles would immediately show that to Curtin and his manager.

Relationship over, back to the eagles within 2 years.

If he’s who the club wants at our pick then take him, but it’s a terrible idea to use any 18yo kid as a pawn. Proper norf stuff.

I would love to believe we can get Reid for unders, but on what planet do people think 3,30,brockman,DGB gets the eagles to the table? Brockman most likely to be pick 54, DGB might be a 30s pick if lucky mostly because of him being a pick 6. So essentially 3,30,30,54.
North as things stand can offer 2,14,f19 and most eagles posters in that thread say that isn’t enough. If north do the dons deal for McKay compo they could up to 2,8,f19 and some then say not enough. Our offer essentially massively oversells the market value of our 2 players which whilst understandable, isn’t realistic.

To be fair, Duursma isn't a key position player either.

We need elite talent in our forward line. At this stage I honestly don't think it matters if that elite talent is tall, small or medium.

We just need more avenues to goal.
Completely agree. We've shown how hard it is to find good smalls, so maybe using a high pick on one isn't the worst idea

An Eagles poster on the trade board said Clarkson took a team over to Perth to meet Curtin

If Norf want to trump us for Harley Reid, they have the picks to do so.
I'm not sure it would be a good look with their AFL benefactors though, having just handed out extra picks including first rounders next year that can be reviewed. They would be better served drafting multiple players than bundling multiple picks to roll the dice on one.
Either way, we can't control what Norf do. If they go stupid, we shouldn't try to outbid them.

3 and 30 was enough last year for GWS to get to #1
Brockman for #54 approx. only makes sense due to his contract status. He is worth more. The Eagles can get him the hard way, or the easy way. (The easy way is part of a Harley Reid package).
DGB is a #6 pick who could develop or might be a bust. Given his age, most clubs would back themselves.

The deal is more realistic in my opinion than yours.

Bigfooty Eagles board would be the last place on earth I'd go for a realistic view of what a fair trade might look like in this instance.

Would we do a F1 for Geelong pick 7?

Would 3, 7 and Brocky shift the needle for pick 1?
I would.

It should but considering they can have Brocky for nothing if they want, probably not.

Maybe but not sure Geelong would, if they are trading out of this years first round i imagine it would be for a player

Would love to get our hands on pick 7. Would be very tempted to hold onto it as well.

Could easily be one of O'Sullivan/Caddy/Sanders.

Unsure what Geelong will want though, established players?

Yes, they want a player.

Seems a stupid rumour. Curtin has to come to Melbourne to meet with clubs anyway. Or is Clarko thinking of relocating the club to Margaret River or something?
