It's still just such a ridiculous thing for a club in our position to contemplate. You'd just do 3, future 1st and Brocky for pick 1 though. No point even getting Geelong's pick in.

Is this real they are happy for one of our players for 7? Or is it a general statement to the market they will take a godfather deal?Yes, they want a player.
I wondered why they’d be interested in Tim O brien? Then I checked his DOB and he turns 30 at the start of next seasonFrost please, suits their age requirement.
Yuck.Probably more of a chance that we send a player to Geelong for there first pick then send it to WC with our first and our Future 1st.
Top-five AFL draft prospect Daniel Curtin says he would “love the opportunity” to move to Melbourne as he shapes as a key piece in any trade for the No. 1 draft pick.North are trying to bluff West Coast that they are taking Curtin, so the Eagles deal with them. Curtin is a massive flight risk, from what you hear.
If we could somehow snare Pick 7 then you take 3 + 7 to the Draft. McKercher/Duursma/Watson + Caddy + McCabe.Probably more of a chance that we send a player to Geelong for there first pick then send it to WC with our first and our Future 1st.
Worpel? I think we have a excess in the center. Although I like Worpel if he would get us PICK 1 - then I would.Yes, they want a player.
It didn’t come out of his mouth, it was from his uncle who he is very close with, telling everyone who will listen that he doesn’t want to leave Victoria. And this is from Harley Reid
There were reports mid-year that Reid did not want to be drafted by a struggling West Coast, but the 18-year-old has strongly denied such speculation.
“That’s not the case,” Reid said.
“That was a weird one. That never came out of my mouth, so that was a bit unexpected.”
And that’s the beauty of an opinion forum where I hope sincerely you are right. But I doubt it not to say it’s unfair value its that north have so many assets and need Reid if they don’t then they prove they are as hopeless as we think they are.If Norf want to trump us for Harley Reid, they have the picks to do so.
I'm not sure it would be a good look with their AFL benefactors though, having just handed out extra picks including first rounders next year that can be reviewed. They would be better served drafting multiple players than bundling multiple picks to roll the dice on one.
Either way, we can't control what Norf do. If they go stupid, we shouldn't try to outbid them.
3 and 30 was enough last year for GWS to get to #1
Brockman for #54 approx. only makes sense due to his contract status. He is worth more. The Eagles can get him the hard way, or the easy way. (The easy way is part of a Harley Reid package).
DGB is a #6 pick who could develop or might be a bust. Given his age, most clubs would back themselves.
The deal is more realistic in my opinion than yours.
Bigfooty Eagles board would be the last place on earth I'd go for a realistic view of what a fair trade might look like in this instance.
For Dan Curtins sake I hope that team wasn’t North. An Eagles poster on the trade board said Clarkson took a team over to Perth to meet Curtin
Its Christmas in your dimming teen years, you know it will never live up to the nostalgia place on it but you still can't kick the childish hope something unexpected will happen that will make your whole year.No idea why I'm 'keen' for tomorrow to be here as though there's any chance of any deal actually going through lol
Pardon the intrusion and tell me to get lost if I'm not welcome to contribute here but this is the first deal proposed that would make me genuinely satisfied to miss out on Reid.Pick 3, Future First & Mackenzie for Pick 1 and 35?
Typing it makes me want to cry.
I will also be genuinely satisfied to miss out on Reid if we had to give that up.Pardon the intrusion and tell me to get lost if I'm not welcome to contribute here but this is the first deal proposed that would make me genuinely satisfied to miss out on Reid.
Due to my work with the Pioneers this year I have some investment in where those selected end up (albeit that Reid is very likely the only player picked in the Draft from the Pioneers this season) so I don't think I've been this invested with a draftee since Naitanui in 2008.
Having said that, some of you might remember how highly I rated Mackenzie last year during his draft season.
So despite my ties to Reid I think we'd accept Pick 3, Hawks F1st, Mackenzie and Brockman (for completeness) for Picks 1 and 35.
Which leads me to my ultimate question - why the heck would you offer so much for Reid?
That's potentially Mackenzie, McKercher/Duursma and Draper/J Smith for Harley Reid. I think, given the accelerated development shown by your young team at times this year, you'd be much better served keeping Mackenzie, taking Duursma and your future 1st next year. It does appear to set your development back probably the equivalent of a year (maybe more) which, as others have pointed out above, puts high expectations on Harley Reid to be in the top echelon of players in the competition, sooner rather than later.
I do believe we're going to drive a hard bargain for pick 1 and I think that your list management team has to be prepared to walk away and back the young players you have/will shortly receive.
Don't get too attached to it. I have no idea why Mackenzie's name is being dragged into discussions, but he's going to be a star for our club and has no place as steak knives in a trade for a bloody draft pick.Pardon the intrusion and tell me to get lost if I'm not welcome to contribute here but this is the first deal proposed that would make me genuinely satisfied to miss out on Reid.

Pretty simple. We won't. The mail is that this is the starting point for the negotiation. We will try and bring the price down. If we don't, we will move on I'm sure. Our LM would be braindead to do that deal.Pardon the intrusion and tell me to get lost if I'm not welcome to contribute here but this is the first deal proposed that would make me genuinely satisfied to miss out on Reid.

Chris’s Judd went to Carlton for Picks 3&20 + Kennedy.
And he was a proven star, brownlow medalist, and premiership player.
There’s no way we should offer more than pick 3+ F1 and some later pick/s in some kind of swap, for a draftee who is yet to play a single game.
Kennedy wanted out, they made the most of it. Similar to us with McPharlin.Who would carlton rather Judd or Kennedy? You wouldn't do that trade, in hindsight
