People thinking we won’t match a Bid for McCabe. Of course we will (Pardon the pun)

It’s just a bit of reverse psychology so that Essendon think twice about bidding if they actually don’t really want him. Same as Dear…..we say not interested would maybe only Rookie list him so no one bids early which costs us points. Showing a lack of interest is in our best interests.

That surely can't be enough. If Brisbane are Top 4 again, their 2nd rounder could be in the early 40s after compo picks, bid matching etc. (and don't forget there's already an extra 2 charity picks that were given to North).

My proposal is Ryan + Pick 33 for Gunston + F1.

They might be able to justify it bc they had to trade their 1st this year for Dunkley last year so at least this way their first 2 picks are in the 2nd round.

44,54,63 is 694 alone and that’s without them coming in. Walter and Read bids will use net 3 picks minimum so they all come in 3 spots so now worth 817 points. Gap is pick 52. Can use pick 33 for chol or something else take 50 for Kozi and match McCabe. Eat that Dodoro there will be none of this come draft night 1!

Our offer of pick 4 + future first and maybe a second round thrown in (which we need to facilitate separately) is strong offer but beggars are holding it all up by teasing the eagles with their picks 2+3! The longer it takes for them to hand those over or not, the less chance we have of dealing with the eagles for their pick 1. Now they're talking to Gunston. This would actually mean they come in 2 spots each time btw - the team matching the bid gets the live pick and every other pick shuffles down 1 spot.

So 6 picks out, but 2 picks in if both bids require 3 picks for matching.

It’s rough they need their first five plus a bit of a 6th pick so hard to exactly the main point was that we have plenty of matching points already.

If Walter and Croft are bid on that becomes 11 automatically. Wasn't there another Gold Coast academy player rated around the top 10 as well?

He's a project defender who might only end up being a back flanker if his body doesn't fill out. If we pass we just need to hope he becomes the next Ryan Burton
