Going to be some melts on here come trade time, when some old favorites get traded
Like who? Clark? Meh, Gres, meh? I support the team not the player.
But when people are calling for King, Marshall and now the club captain to be traded, it needs to be called out.

The lack of any thought that goes into these blathering is the thing most people think dumb.

Who is calling for Steele to get traded? Just saying him and membreys names have been told to other clubs that they could be available if the right deal comes

Lots of people on here in the past 12 hours.
Like people have called for King and Marshall to be traded.
I have heard all year for some ITK's
Doogs
Gres
Clark
are possibles to be traded and Billings has been told to explore his options.
RTB has been looking to strip out the list to his liking. He wants his type of players.

What he won't do is trade out players like King, Marshall or Steele and if he did that is when the melts would occur and rightly so.

Others? Nah.

Source or you are just parroting Towmey.

Membrey I could see, but we are desperate for mids and we want to trade away a two time AA mid who has been carrying an injury all year? Would be ludicrous, but unsurprisingly St.Kilda to do so.

Calm a down

Modern era literally every player is tradeable for the right price. Doubt that happens for Steele. Can't see a club offering enough to make it worthwhile

Sounds like good motivation for a strong finals series, pre season by Steele and probably a bit of a reality check

A bit of draft talk

I have a mate I used to play footy with that is playing in the Ovens and Murray league now. He came up against Darcy Wilson yesterday.

He is betting on him being a 250 game AFL player. Gut runner that doesnt waste a kick.

Sounds like he'd be a good pick around our range if he makes it. Not a genuine inside mid, more so an Isaac Smith type.

I could see Steele being traded but it would take a tremendous deal.

Bumped into McCartney (GWS GM) in the lounge before my flight home this morning.
Had a chat about footy, brought up Jack Steele and he said the news he's been hearing recently is we're trying to get rid of him...
Watch this space on the Steele rumours I guess lmao

Did he really use the words "trying to get rid of him", if so its pretty poor marketing by the Saints.

If you are trying to sell your old car because its horrible and unreliable..." Reluctantly selling this classic auto ".

It's all good to trade Marshall because we can just “grab another one” apparently.

The blokes nearly the all-Australian first ruck and in the prime of his career.

To me he's one of our few genuine stars but I can see how you could justify moving him on for the mother of all deals. He's a star but he'd hopefully get you 2 good first round picks from a side like GWS or Geelong where you try to turn him back into a star mid or two.

Marshall is a brilliant player but with an average midfield along side him he's having to do a bulk of the work for them. You could make a case for selling him and using the capital and finding a more rudimentary tap ruck cheap.

That said his last month has shown exactly why you don't sell off your better players. He's the type that wins you games when in that form.

Wouldn't mind George Stevens too. Someone was very keen on him, can't remember who but he's the type that could be a real bargain later picked mid.

An array of 2023 draft-eligible players were unleashed last weekend – and one was arguably Geelong’s best player.

In his second game for the Cats’ VFL side, GWV Rebels midfielder George Stevens finished with a team-high 29 disposals, five inside 50s, five marks, four clearances and four rebound 50s in a loss to Collingwood.

It comes after Stevens’ hot run at Coates Talent League level, racking up 44, 236 and 33 disposals from his past three matches.

Despite his form and obvious traits, Stevens looms as one of this year’s most polarising draft prospects.

Stevens is a powerfully-built 189cm prospect who plays with great presence and is hard to push over in the contest. But what recruiters like about him is his post-clearance work, with his cleanliness, decision-making skills and natural ball-winning ability.

At the same time, there are question marks on Stevens’ athletic profile and whether he has AFL-level speed and agility.

One scout told foxfooty.com.au Stevens is an early to middle second-round prospect, while another would be hesitant to take him in the national draft.

Maybe McCartney (GWS GM) was taking the piss.

Could be a Josh Kennedy type mid, but you would want some speed in the midfield around him.

Yep, looks a gun. Pace and distance. Not sure he has Rozee’s pace, but there is a little bit of likeness there.

Hey 🆘
Stay away from trading with Essendon and Collingwood they only trade out duds. Maybe add Sydney, Port and Geelong to that as well.
Keep away from Freo they only trade if they can ream you.

Everyone else fine and pretty fair I think.
