Footskills is my Number Two Biggest Problem at the Saints. Or rather Ball Use which is kicking, handball and smart decisions.
Better ball use though is also the result of your team mates getting into the right positions so that good decisions can be made.

We have had many players who just hit up the nearest St Kilda Jumper rather than actually getting the ball to advantage. This is where Sinclair, and now Nas Shines.

Billings I see as a good ball user. Coffield not so much.

I've never been as obsessed with kicking and skills as some. 100% agree though, a lot of ball use is players without the ball moving into space for team mates. Great kicks are excellent but you can make space and minimise the chance of turn over and make it look better. Brisbane and Carlton both look highly skilled but a lot of it is their movement without the ball. They sprint to find space for the next kick or pass to go to.

He's next level not very good. Like not touching the ball not very good. He's a sweet kid and a great story but he's like if Lonie was playing blindfolded and his hands tied together.

He'd be a replacement for Coffield but he's got a lower ceiling. He's that third tall back type/ interceptor that Battle and Wilkie suit. I'd persist with Highmore over him to be honest.

I think he is a bit one paced and like a lot of inside mids could improve his kicking. Even so his VFL stats are decent and could be one of those players that just needs the opportunity.

Yeah, if we are chasing a Pie he'd be the one IMO. Contracted I think but there was talk of him wanting a move. His brother dropped off when moved to HF and I think because his brother seems to have drifted away a bit people aren't as hot on Finlay. Both are high accumulation low hurt factor types but we don't really have much of any type of mid so he's likely get more games with us. Maybe Taylor Adams has changed his mind.
