Out: Gresham Coffield 35 56 our future second rounder and a future fourth rounder (either ours or Freo)

Its only a couple of pick drop, not 5 spots. Gc have 36 and 38 that will disappear.

I'd imagine it was a deal done by SOS to get the Gresham deal to band 2.

Looks like we owed Essendon a favour after all.

Yes probably, Essendon worked it so we got Band 2, SOS probably got them involved as a back scratching exercise.

Coff wanted to leave. Has been injured for 2 years and OOC, really can’t get much out of it in the end

It's a bad deal in the sense that we're giving more than we're getting in the way of picks, but we're a trading a bloke in who averages 21 touches, 6.5 clearances and 4 tackles in the full games he's played last season. Sure its a speculative pick as we're hoping that he can keep it up for an entire year, but if he delivers, then we've definitely come out winners here.

I actually thought we could end up with 35 as well as 40 so I do see it as a big deal.

If we had have done the Coff trade separately we could have just upgraded our 55 to 40 and had 4 picks inside 40.

Do you think we’d already made a deal with Essendon to get them something extra in return for them paying Gresh enough for Band 2?
