Like I said. Could play a role.
Losing Doedee, Murray most of the year ACL, losing McAdam.

Only Burgess in so far.

Whilst I think some of our youth should improve, I don't necessarily think it will translate into guaranteed top 8.
If it wasn't for a goal umpire, we would have been top 8.

Further we had the 2nd hardest draw.

However, we need we can't go backwards with our list experience.

So far lost McAdam & Doedee, whilst gaining Burgess... so we have effectively lost net McAdam... but with Murray out also a negative... but we now have cover for him.

You rate burgess the equal of the dude?!?

Think he adds better balance to our squad as a key position player who can play either end. He's also a better key defender than Dude, which stops that nonsense of using him as our 2nd tall.

We already have better & younger options than Doedee with Worrell, Hinge & Max.

We will miss Dude's experience though.

The thing is we don’t need another KPF, Tex, Fog, RT, Gollant and EH if he stays are more than enough tall forwards.

It’s what Burgess can do down back will determine if he will be a good pick up.

I'm sure he will be used as a key defender more next season, given we have more depth forward... but he may also get in front of Berg as a forward too.

Late 2nd rounder I would think, he's no Zak Jones....We need a mid with wheels unless Jones magically finds his mojo.

Edit : to go with our already competent inside ball winners, that's why Campbell Chesser might be high up on our draft board, especially if we pick up another inside ball winner Ollie Davis in the MSD.

"Big money".

Hope not

Would he even get a game over Jake Kelly?

Do we need Dawson?? Even if he is from SA and is a decent player. We need mids desperately and not half backs. Also his age at 24 is not really great for us either and especially if he comes on big money. We should be looking to draft midfielders and forward player. Look to fringe players like Sparrow from Melbourne who aren’t getting many games.

Don’t think Dawson will make a huge difference to us but we have Hamill and Jones there right now. We need for all the players to mature together. If he’s free then I’m all for it but I don’t want to give up anything for him.
As for Hately, he look average and won’t ever become a star. He need to improve big time just to get a spot in our side who are lacking any midfield quality. He is slow with average disposal. I’m not writing him off but he has some way before he becomes a regular
Dawson is not a $700K player, aren't you the guy always going on about half backs?
