This year freo have pick 21? And can still trade?

Davies & Draper look like they can play need time to develop & put on size.
Wagner has been ok since he’s come into side.
Stanley looks a find.
You can’t judge a draft after one season.

Wouldn’t be saying it’s a bust yet

Pick 21 I'm excited!

Has Moir fallen off a cliff or what in terms of performance this year? You have him at 13 but say the clubs won’t pick him in the top 40?
Honestly he sounds exactly the type of player that is helping the Pies with
forward flair.
I think we need to look at his 2022 form, as Chris mentioned he is carrying an
injury this year.
Connor Rozee was dominating U 16’s but had a less than perfect U18’s
championship.
If we could get this guy 3rd round it sounds like a calculated risk.
Imagine a haul of Hall, Sanchez and Muir.

I don't think it is the injury that is reason people are expecting him to go later or even not at all than where his talent has him; the injury has affected what he could do this year (particularly in terms of movement) and the position that he could play, but his basketball instincts (he was potentially looking at this as a different career and has probably focussed on this more in the past) and skills with ball in hand are still plainly clear to see in this year's gameplay.

Once the kid builds a tank and if we miss out on him we will regret it mark my words, I said the same thing about Eddie Ford in his draft year
I doubt he gets past WC who I think
have a pick before us?
He has trained with them, or some link, and is a follower.
Has been tipped for the first round and we have sold the farm.

If it was possible to swap our F1 for gold coasts pick 5 I would also do that. We would probably need to throw something extra in like a late second rounder but it could be done…

GC currently hold nine picks worth points in just this draft. I would expect a deal where a future moves but it happens AT the draft because clubs can only take as many picks as they have open list spots.

Hypothetically, Freo open more list spots and trade our future first for a bulk of their current picks, effectively hiding them from the list spot cull at the start of the draft then later trade pick 5 for a selection of the picks back again.

Something like:

Freo trade F1 for #25, #31, #44

Then at the draft:
GC trade pick #5 for #21, #40, #48

All we've really done is hide the picks and swapped firsts.

In theory, sure.

But I don't like it. If a club comes in with a better offer, we're left with no first round pick across either year.

These deals are agreed to before the first is actioned but if you'd prefer, it can be heavily weighted in the first half so we hold their future first.

The only hurdle is we can't reverse a trade back, so we could trade their picks for better ones by combining them and then swap them back at the draft.

Such as:

GC trade F1, #25, #31, #43, #44 to Freo for #21, F2, F3, F4

Then Freo trade #25, #31 to the Dogs for #16

Then at the draft:

GC trade pick #5, GCF2, GCF3, GCF4 to Freo for #16 and F1

Something like that. There is room to massage the system to hide the value of their picks moved and then give them back to them.

I’m positive GC can have enough points and trade out their first round pick with the shenanigans that can happen around the bidding. It’s a lot more to do with
A) Would we want to do that and would our future first be enough by itself
B) Are GC lazy and would prefer to use some of pick 5 to get points because it’s the easy option (I think this is dumb but that’s on them)
C) Do GC see more value in using 5 as part of a salary dump for Fiorini

Importantly, if you think Henry is going to WB, it is very helpful for us if Dogs are unable to to turn their two first round picks into that GC pick. We want their best option to be “getting Henry for free” by turning there latter 1st round pick into Henry and latter picks for points. Important to note that depending on where they finish, there is every chance the Dogs later first round pick is like pick 22 come draft night anyway

My favourite part of the year is trade week and draft night haha
It's a safe space. Can have opinions but when it doesnt happen like you want you can immediately wash away the anger with the unlimited potential of whoever we draft or trade for with pick 67 =)

But one good thing is that 22 will be before eagles 2nd .. will help to get players both clubs interested in
