Really.
So if he played u18 all year as the number 1 option and likely kicks 50 plus goals and dominates the comp. Leading goal kicker played 19 games for 38 goals

Or plays the whole year against men, as the 2-3 or even 4th option - very hard to compare

yes recruiters can calibrate performances but it’s hard to do when you’re talking different roles and competitions.

Even you should be able to work that out!

Well if I can work it out then so can recruiters, who would take into account the difference in competitions when judging the talent level.

He often makes the wrong decision by handball. A bit of a panic merchant and puts teammates under pressure IMO.
He has speed and evasiveness in spades which cannot be coached. I'm sure the panicked poor decision making will be addressed with experience & maturity. These are just kids fresh out of school at the end of the day.

Can't help but feel the Langford noise is a misdirect, lots of ducks and drakes going on with such an even pool and lots of clubs with multiple picks and possibly quite a bit of pick movement still to come.

North obviously want to trade out of 2 but with Saints almost certain to take their 2 x top 10's to the draft, really only leaves Richmond as a viable buyer. They'll be thinking though, there's an excellent chance of getting Smith or Langford (who's a big Tigers fan) at 6, so why give up another top 10 for pick 2. Ironically, the chances of that happening increase if North stays at 2.

The Langford talk may be to get Richmond to take pick 2 for him - powerful mid with leadership qualities who's a big fan growing up, that's the kind of guy you want for what's looking like a rough rebuild. That leaves FOS, Draper, and Smith on the table for the other clubs.

Think there's going to be a lot of players being linked here there and everywhere and we may not have a clear understanding until the names get read out. Still think it's 70% likely Draper, 20% likely Smith, 10% someone else.

Accurate assessment

We've delisted Schoenberg and Burgess.

Why have we committed to redrafting them? :'(
I presume that Schoenberg and Burgess could be drafted by any other club at pick 90ish. If this doesn’t happen, which it won’t, this just proves they shouldn’t be on our list either.

Clubs are very reluctant to draft players who haven't agreed to play for them. Just doesn't happen.

So your reasoning is completely false, even though your conclusions are completely correct.

From the brief highlights I watched in that post on the previous page, I thought the exact opposite. He seemed to do really well to draw the oncoming defender towards him to free up his team mate and then handballed to them once they were free.

His repeat effort and gut running was very impressive too. He looks like he would bring a different skill set to our team that we have been missing.

Very long shot that the players would agree to a change, but Hugh Greenwood was convinced by North to change clubs.
Won't happen I know, especially Burgo.

Richmond should pick up Shoenberg, probably make sense for a year or two (they won't)

Nobody is picking Burgo though

Schoenbergs career is done. As I stated ages ago, he is one of those players destined to be a great Sanfl level player but simply doesnt do enough at AFL level. He wont push any of our mids out for games and we have better players all over our forward line. No club will take him. Otherwise they would have during trade period. Its not a surprise here. We knew what we needed to do. No one wanted him, so we were stuck and the only thing that saves him via the promise is our want for depth.
