With all the contradictory news reports going around about who is into who (we were hot on Langford for the last two weeks, now cold for eg) I think the clubs at the pointy end are all waiting to see who blinks first

Muddy the waters .

Zero Hanger has us picking Langford. as of 18 hours ago. I don't know any of these guys like so many of you, but what I do know is that we need a speedy chap, the type we haven't had since Dangerfield. I'm all for trading to 2 to get Draper. Gotta make a stand some time!
I started watching the youtube video …. but clearly they were simply following media rumours …. even saying on a couple of occasions, they wouldn’t have selected them there

So why are they doing it at all ….. it’s a Parrot Phantom Draft …. useless & some of the rationale was amateurish

I turned it off after pick 6

Reading the Age article as well - it sounds like we’d move up for Smith if possible, but if we don’t, the pick would be Draper or Langford
Or Smith if he's available still, presumably.
It seems like 1 of Smith, Draper and Lalor will be available at our pick, so cant see us picking Langford ahead of any of them

Hmm, I am starting to think a lot of mind games are going on here. If North are wedded to taking Tauru at 2, then Smith 'might' have slid to Richmonds next pick so they don't go for him at 1 thinking he will get to 6. Does our heavy 'interest' have them take Smith at 1, meaning another player we are very keen on is there at 4 that may not have been? OR we are genuinely interested in Smith ourselves

Who knows?????

If we move to 2 to try and get Smith and end up with Lalor ... will anyone be upset?!?!?

Yep, all a Poker game at the moment.

I’ll be happy no matter which of Smith, Lalor, Draper or FOS falls into our lap.

All I'm reading into all this media speculation is they haven't got a ****ing clue what any club is doing at the top end, first it was Draper, then it was Langford now it's supposed to be Jagga Smith. They are all guessing that's all that's clear.

I mean it’s still probably Draper or Langford if we stay at 4

Either way, this is about the time when genuine draft intel starts to leak out. I remember the possibility of a Curtin trade for us got leaked late in the week before, last year

Twomey will know by Monday

Smith would be a huge win , guaranteed A grade / elite mid

Not many others with a floor that high , actually none

Yep, we can’t afford to mess this pick up. Jagga seems like the most can’t miss prospect of the supposed Top 4, you just know he’s gonna be a 200 game player.

The Mutineer System
Its funny over on the Carlton, they even admitted themselves they have cycled through all the top 4 mids in this draft as their preferred option over the last few weeks. Tigers still have not cemented their preferred Pick 1 and North still not 100% convinced of taking Tauru at Pick 2.

Btw HS article says North only wants 4 and a F2 for 2, so if Smith’s our guy and we can wrangle up a second with our F3’s, I think it gets done
I’ve actually forgotten rules can we trade future picks for future picks during the draft or is there a window coming up ?

Didn’t know that was a thing post trade period

Ie when can we trade 2x future 3rds for a future 2nd ?

We should just tell north to make themselves useful and do it themselves 😂
