Nicks has said he doesn't value talent??

Is there an actual source for that?
Nicks did say a couple of year or so ago something along the lines that we needed to prioritise more skilful types as we didn't have the balance right with too many hard working types.

Not sure he has always been listening to his own advice though.

It would be referring to this Nicks quote from 2023 but the poster obviously hasn’t read the second paragraph.

"It's an interesting one, because I've always been one of those coaches who's said just give me the guys who work hard. Give me 18 of those and we’ll get a flag," Nicks said.

"But I reckon there's got to be a balance with that. Talent wins premierships, and the hard work and role players get you there, so you need to find that balance.
Mostyn - this was the quote I was referring to.

😂 😂 😂 😂 😂

Not a comment on the people posting but how quick and off some info is presented

Don't underrate the false information leaks by clubs.

Moreso this year with no clear draft order.

The whole quote is worse, but is absolutely industrial-strength Nicks.

Hard work is enough to win a flag. Actually no, you need a balance. On the other hand, talent wins flags. But then again, you need a balance.

I see him more as a Dawson type. Could play midfield but skills suited to wing.
There are other midfielders available that would better enhance our midfield balance.

Such a fascinating year.

I’ve been enjoying all of the mind and media games between Carl/Adelaide.
What's your top 3 preference for the Blues?

Gather FOS has strong links to the club.

I reckon you’re overplaying this a bit

This is a 12 year midfielder hopefully , team balance in season 1 isn’t that important

And a need for our midfield is someone that helps create scores more than anyone in the draft but also does lots of hard work without the footy

Listening a little to gettable this morn sounds like it’s very tight at pick 2 between Tauru and FOS

Wouldn’t surprise me if option A was to trade back and take Tauru

Option B to take FOS at #2 comes if there is not a trade worthwhile to slide back

If Lalor goes #1 & either Tauru or FOS go #2... then either Draper or Smith will be available to us at #4.
