Give them time for sure, but on the flip side you can't be annoyed if people are questioning picks now. When the player doesn't work out everyone will point out , "you didn't say anything at the time ".

It seems that there is a lot of discontent with our picks. Why don't we wait until they have a few games before we make a decision on whether they are ok or not. Reserves games I mean. Maybe about 20 games in we will know who has the goods and who doesn't.

It's not the players. It's the type of players and who else was available.

We got a medium forward, and a KPD who may/may not be the contested type we need.

No other needs were filled (so far).

and the KPD we got isn't big enough to deal with the 200cm key forwards, which is the sort of KPD we really need.

Don't think Andrew is the Rampe replacement tbh seems more like a McCartin second tall type and Snell will be the Rampe lockdown type.

Just feel like we maybe could have gone for a KPF but they must truely believe in Chamberlain and King to work out.

I think this last week or two has told me that some people have completely forgotten about the guys that haven't debuted and think they must be replaced at the next draft/trade period.

We now have a replacement for each of our three KPFs
McCartin - Andrew
Melican - Edwards
Rampe - Snell

We have a Lloyd replacement in Bice

We have a Hayward backup in Bowman

We have a Konstanty replacement in Datolli

Decent but felt like we could have picked "higher quality players"

Yes, but picking up a player with a late draft selection is showing you are not serious. If we were serious about our need for a KPD we would have used a first or a second rounder on them.

The problem is until they debut they are not "replacements" who are ready. We don't know if any of the players you listed are good enough, and the fact Longmire did not play Edwards and Snell this year indicates he thinks right now they are not. They are behind Francis in the pecking order.

Others who were arguing we really need a small forward were arguing only yesterday we can't get a small forward in the rookie draft anymore as all the best ones now go in the first few rounds of the national draft.

It feels like Dattoli and Bice are short term options for small forward and ball use off half back.

Bowman seems more like a long term medium forward. From looking at highlights of Andrew, he looks like he will develop into a 3rd tall intercept defender.

We have Chamberlain coming next year for KPF and agree that we might take a flyer on another KPD next year but think that 6 KPD and KPFs each is about right for a list
