Richmond could probably get pick 2 without us or gws so interesting to see where Port and gws sit in that sort of trade

That's very interesting, but I can't help but imagine no deals will be formally done until draft night because of how crazy this draft is. I think any club that trades/slides back out of top 10 would be crazy to take that risk right now when they don't have to

If there is a 3 or 4 way trade in the wind, I expect that will have to happen before the draft.

Clearly the recruiters know where the cards are likely to fall and the more time goes on, the more accurate it gets.

Someone must be available now that we love that wasn't looking at being there previously.

I'm with you on them being into Smillie at a guess. Maybe Reid.

I just cant see Smilie falling to 10.

I’d guess, FOS, Smith, Draper, Reid, Smilie, Lalor, Armstrong will be gone. That puts us in the range for Allan, Trevaglia, Tauru, Langford, Shanahan, Hotton

Whoa. I just saw C4's post that we are looking to trade up.

I don't have a problem with it.

If they can get into the top 10 and think they can nab a player who they believe has the profile of a number 1 pick then they should go for it.

as we have delisted a lot of our depth, I think it would be better to wait and see on the night if our target players are available, otherwise we could split 13 into 19,22 with Sydney.

I genuinely think Lord or Esava are more likely to play than what people think they are to. I just can't see how we change our forward entries when there's no new assistant coaches. Where are they going to suddenly get a new idea from that they haven't found in the past 12 years?

In all seriousness I'm not even thinking about 2025. I've already started to think about 2026 and how we should set up. Till Ken's here, there's zero chance of us doing anything meaningful
Re Ratugolea, hopefully kern took note of Aliir having to tell him to pick up his opponent when he was tried as a key defender, and then later in the season when he was played as a key forward and Georgiadis motioned to him to get out of the way!

Both those situations unfortunately reflected on the blokes lack of footy nous which should relegate him to a back up player in an emergency only, but as you suggest the kernster has been known to go back to the same well time and time again and then nothing changes but the date on the calendar, so I too have no great hopes for 2025.

I also expect Lord will get plenty of opportunities to become the `gorilla' forward to compliment the likes of Georgiadis and Luko, and he could rise to the occasion if he has a trouble free preseason and can hit the ground running.

If the deal involves gws aswell as c4 has suggested it seems more likely that we are trading down to their later teens picks than up to 10. It’s a hard one to see how it works.
We have nothing to give that would justify moving up even just 3 places. 29 won't cut it, we can't trade our F2, which is worth less than 29 anyway.

so, logically, you're right- we must be considering trading down.

You can't cherry pick C4's rumours :D He's clearly stated we are gunning for pick 10.

Wonder if Draper is a silly chance? Really depends on the crows. But he's drifted a bit in Twomey and Rookie Me's power rankings. Armstrong, Tauru and maybe even Travaglia who are all ranked below him could be picked before him which would push him out.

Maybe the rumour he doesn't want to go to Adelaide is true. ;)

Or Carlton will snap him up at #3 ;)

Im that hot on Draper i just dont see how that happens. But it could go:

Rich - Smith
NM - Lalor
Carl - FOS
Ade - Langford
Mel - Armstrong
Rich - Smilie
StK - Reid
StK - Allan
Mel - Tauru
PA - Draper

That isnt out of the realms of possibility i guess

I agree, it's very unlikely, but Port must have a strong idea that someone they are specifically interested in will be there. Probably not Draper but it is interesting that C4 isn't letting any details of the player slip.

Draper screams a Carlton pick and probably their next captain.

I dunno why, but I have a gut feel that if we're trying to get to 10 it's for Tobie Travaglia. Mighta thought he might skip to us at 13/16 but now hearing whispers Richmond/West Coast wants him?
He is the one I don’t want to trade up for. Don’t get me wrong, he looks like a really good player, but it’s another half back.

Perhaps Draper has been giving out JHF vibes to recruiters. Good lad. I think JHF leaving after 1 year has made a few recruiters nervous of star SA youngsters. Let's hope so. Would be as good as when Chad slipped to us.
