Hotton and Trainor not in first rd of selections as they didnt get invite to opening draft night.
I guess with so many players pretty equal in the first round clubs won’t chance Hotton with his injury concerns.
Normally we love injured players when it comes to draft night.
Obviously we have someone maked and it’s not Hotton.

Finding spots on the list is becoming an issue.
Yeah, it will be interesting if they jettison a couple of players.

The Drafting Guys have really talked up this year's draft so they really should be putting all of their eggs into this basket and capitalising on it.

There have been suggestions of breaking 13 for a 20, 21 scenario and I don't mind it but also like the idea of going up and grabbing a potential superstar as well.

Trainor

3 concussions in 2 years?

Last one "mild." Not sure about the mild thing with concussion?

**** he's hard to go past on talent.
Concussions as a kid is not the best. It won't bode well I would think. Love his talent though.

I think they rested him for the Grand Final so the concussions must be bad for him not to play.

I have heard we're trying to move up but at the same time also would mind shifting back and splitting our picks. Sounds more like come draft night we won't have pick 13. I'm absolutely all for moving down

Port Adelaide great Robbie Gray and Power talent scout Brett Anderson drove up from Melbourne to visit Joe Berry in Benalla midway through August, meeting the 181cm small forward after the Murray Bushrangers smashed the Western Jets by 94 points in Wangaratta. Gray has transitioned from playing to recruiting for Port Adelaide since retiring at the end of 2022 after his decorated 271-game career. The four-time All-Australian is now sitting opposite underage talent, like Berry, trying to pick the Power's next generation, as part of Jason Cripps' list management team.
"That [Port Adelaide] interview was a bit surreal. They asked about a player I model my game on and I said him. It was good to meet Robbie. He gave me some good tips and advice."
Berry also spent part of last pre-season training with Port Adelaide recruit Joe Richards in Wangaratta. The pair crossed paths at the Wangaratta Magpies, but never played together.

My man. The similarities with Butters are there. My memory is that Butters didn’t play a whole lot of midfield in his draft year-certainly not for Vic Country. Gray saw more in him and I see more in Berry than just a small forward.

The way it's going Hynes might be a bolter on draft night. There's lots of interest in him now. Melbourne, Richmond and Dogs into him. Not surprising given he's a top 15 prospect in my eyes but many had him in the early 20s

So there might not be a decision to make for Port on him. Would be very annoying if that's how it turned out

Butters played a fair bit of midfield in his draft year. I doubt Berry can become midfielder at AFL level given he's a bit slower than Zak too but he'll be a classy small forward. Whether that's a major need for us right now is the question

Thats what I like to hear!
Joe Berry can become a midfielder later on as he develops through the system.
Nice work Port!

I think Joe Berry is most like dylan Moore. I see him as a general forward who mainly plays high but can also play deep. Im a dylan Moore fan.

Butters played wing in his bottom age year and wing/mid in his top age year for Western.

Is there a list available of the 1st round invitees around anywhere?

We need to know who the most obscure player with an invite is

I think in one of his recent Gettables Cal Twomey said there would be 15 invitees and well over 20 picks. Don't expect any obscure players.

North firming to hold on to pick 2.
Melbourne and Saints now keen on Tauru so apparently not worth the risk of trading down.
( Melbourne and Saints maybe playing games to bluff North into using 2 so a player they want slides?)

Ashcroft to one side.

1. Richmond takes Lalor.
2. North takes Tauru.
3. Carlton now has a call on Jagga/FOS/Draper and all of a sudden everyone wants Bo?

Someone is sliding to 10 if a deal can be done?

The other way Hotton isn't in the 1st round I'd trade down and go for

Hotton
Dodson
Mraz

It's interesting because other reports suggest Richmond is holding up trading #2 as they refure to use #6 or #24. If they crack on #6 then something is likely to happen.

North need more than #2, their next pick is #62. They will try and offload their F1 (I think they still have it) to get into R1 but everyone seems to be hanging onto their picks.

Is Robbie based in SA or has he relocated to Vic? Robbie Gray and Brett Anderson a good combo.

Maybe one day Robbie will be the heir to Jason Cripps.

You've heard that here and been steadfast we can't do it. Have you heard more that might have shifted your position?
