39. JACK OUGH
Position: Wing/midfielder
Size: 194cm
Clubs: GWV Rebels/Wentworth
AFL player comparison: Joel Freijah
46. ADRIAN COLE
Position: Tall defender
Size: 194cm
Clubs: Sandringham Dragons/St Bedes-Mentone
AFL player comparison: Dougal Howard
One for Saints fans to get excited about, as Cole is part of the club’s NGA.
Frejjah reminds me of bergmanFrom this comparison all I can think is, who does Joel Freijah play like that I may actually have seen on an AFL list before?
Is Joel Freijah anything like Freijah Tuck of Nottingham Forest? From this comparison all I can think is, who does Joel Freijah play like that I may actually have seen on an AFL list before?
Why would Mr and Mrs Ough name their kid Jack? Seriously?Jack Off and Cumming to play 1v1.

Poor bugger, unless it's pronounced differently to what I think it is.

That is precisely why Brisbane could trade their pick 27 (703 points) for our 36 (502 points) & 50 (273) a combined 775 is an increase of 72 points. The Brisbane trade doesnt work because 27 will be eaten up in the Ashcroft selection, hopefully at pick 1
West Coast have the immediate pick before us where I reckon Allan would have been factored in when they split their Pick Three. If Bo Allan is there, you just take him.
Hotton is the sexy pick but Shanahan fills a real need with some great talent. Sure, there is more of a possibility he will dud out compared to the 6 footers in that neck of the woods of the draft but sometimes you've got to pick up a KPF earlyish to balance the team.
Its pronounced Jack Ow (Ough) not Off
Lord came into the year injured and never got going because of it. He is still young and has time, next year we will see.Out of our key forwards only Georgiades looks like consistently performing
We hope Lukosius does (I think he will)
Marshall gets concussed every time he steps foot on the field
Finlayson had a terrible year and would be 50/50 to stay on the list if he has another terrible year
Lord went backwards at a rate of knots and may not be the answer
Ratugolea kicked 0.1 in his last 6 games playing as a KPF
There are question marks on all bar 1 of our KPFs. There is a very decent chance that at the end of next year, Marshall is retired due to concussions, Lord proves to be not good enough and Finlayson spends half the year in the reserves. At that point, our KPF stocks would be almost all timey bad.
Will we pick a KPF early? I personally don't think we will, but I think it should definitely be part of our discussion, if Shanahan is still on the board at our pick
I've heard it pronounced Off by some commentators.
Maybe it's like one of those Celtic names that is pronounced entirely differently to how it's written so he is actually Jack Cassidy.
Yea the commentators did say Off but their was confirmation by him (Jack) via a radio interview its "Ow".

People give there kids stupid names. Why would Mr and Mrs Ough name their kid Jack? Seriously?

Brisbane traded picks 32 and 45 to get pick 27. Can’t see them trading back for 2 worse picks. That is precisely why Brisbane could trade their pick 27 (703 points) for our 36 (502 points) & 50 (273) a combined 775 is an increase of 72 points.

I know we’re all guilty of becoming fixated on certain players. I definitely wasn’t even thinking of a small forward to draft but this kid has something special.
And kudos to the person running this YouTube channel, I love that it’s all their game involvements not just highlights. I’m also of the opinion that whoever selects Jagga Smith will have the best player in the draft, absolute freak.
So all the siblings could be ... Jack, Rack, Nick, and their adopted Chinese brother, Ping? Why would Mr and Mrs Ough name their kid Jack? Seriously?

I don't think Hynes will impact straight away either but he's got more going for him from a physicality sense that should help the transition a bit better.Thats true you don't know if Berry will have an impact straight away. But thats the same for the other draftees a part from the top 5.
None of them are the finished product its obviously going to take a few pre-seasons before we get the best out of them.
Disagree regarding your statement about his pace.
But thats the great thing about this forum with everyone opinions.
Your assuming that the mid/fwd (Cooper Hynes) draftee will make an impact straight away.
Your argument goes both ways. Impact at AFL level is a complete different story. Depends on the individual, the club development/strategy and where they are played initially.
With our small/medium forward line it doesn't ooze with talent and class and Berry will have more of a chance to have an impact. Thats my opinion.
If we had two 1st round picks we wouldn't be having this discussion as its clearly obvious the two we would both pick.
Mine would be:Hard to know who’s going to be there at our pick but if the choice was between Hynes, Trainor, Berry, Lindsay & Hotton.
My preference
Lindsay
Trainor
Hotton
Shanahan
Trevaglia
Hynes
Allan
Berry
Didn't test, finished the season off playing finals with an ankle injury so didn't test at the combine
I would go:So, let's say come Draft day/night, we have our eye on a player, maybe two, and they get taken before pick 13?
As one poster postulated, we could trade 13 for the Swan's 19 and 22.
Maybe also 36 and 50 for Brisbane's 27 anf 66.
That gives us 19, 22, 27, 29 and 66.
It seems a given that picks under 30 will drop back with bid matchng 2 to 3 extra spots, whilst picks over 50 will likely move up the order by 10, maybe 12 spots.
Leaving that aside, in the order that they occur (without adjustment), we mcould "potentially" select:
19 - Hynes: Tall, strong marking, ball winning mid/forward, clean hands, elite hanball skills, passable footskills in field kicking, goodcaround goal, fast enough without being electric, demonstrates good repeat efforts.
22- Barrat: Excellent contested and intercept marking KPP, can play both ends of the ground well, decent kick.
27 - West/Gerryne/Sims: Mobile talls with decent foot speed and strong bodied types who can all ruck. West clean below his knees, Gerryne agile and kicks either foot, Simms gets good separation on the lead.
29 - Davis: Tall, powerful marking mid/forward, excellent endurance, impacts the scoreboard and gets a f aswir bit of it. Has decent foot speed. Quick with his hands, although some disposals miss the target ie. behind a player running past. Done well at WAFL League level already.
66 - Alger: Quick, nimble, agile small forward. Has tricks and X-factor. Impacts scoreboard well. Can take a hanger too.
Rookie: Burgoyne.
Cat B: Barrett.
We've deleted/retired 9 players to date, and brought 3 in already via trades. That's 6 spots open. We draft 7 as above, meaning we need one more delisting from either Mac and cheese, Charleson or Williams.
Their first pick will be consumed as a matching first round bid where they do not actually use it as selection 27.It was weird at the time as they lost 200 points on that deal, but from what I understand they had only so many picks they could carry to the draft to match bids. (Happy to have this explained if I have misunderstood.)
So they wouldn't sacrifice their one pick for two from us even if they get more points for our two picks.
