I'm not sure what the injury is, but could it help explain why Mason played limited time last week? Feels like a season where we can't take a trick, and two weeks running we're naming an injured player as an emergency - so down to 23 fit players it seems

Geelong have made two changes for Saturday's clash, as they head West to take on Waalitj Marawar (West Coast) in Week 9.

Star midfielder Amy McDonald returns after overcoming a hamstring injury, while Rachel Kearns also been added to the team after missing last week with concussion.

Gabbi Featherston is unavailable after suffering hamstring tightness against Brisbane, while Chantal Mason will also miss Saturday's clash through injury.

The Cats will take on Waalitj Marawar on Saturday at Mineral Resources Park in Perth, with the opening bounce at 6.05pm AEDT (3.05pm local time).

Geelong's Week 9 clash will be broadcast on Fox Footy and streamed through Kayo from 6.00pm.

Cats members and fans can follow every goal, bounce, tackle, and moment for the upcoming game against Eagles via the new match-day blog. Click here to follow all the action from 4.30pm AEDT.

Not sure on Mason's injury, but having just read the full injury report for this week and this sucks for Kenny - though sounds like we've signed her for an initial 2 seasons which is the same as we did with Moloney & Kennedy

After further assessment, and missing last week with an ankle injury, Kate Kenny has been ruled out for the remainder of the season with a stress fracture in her ankle.

“Kate has unfortunately sustained a stress fracture in her navicular and has commenced her rehabilitation. While that will rule Kate out for the remainder of the AFLW season, we will support her and eagerly anticipate her return to the field with her Gaelic team for their season, and we look forward to having her back, fully fit and ready, for our 2025 pre-season,” Johnson said.

If the AFL try and give this same type of schedule again with or without increasing list sizes the women should tell them to go and get ****ed.

So many teams barely able to field a full team and hell some are using top ups.

If they're serious about wanting to build the brand, they need to sack the current AFLW board and get in people interested in making it succeed.

You can see by the increasing number of young girls in the crowd that the interest is there if the league really wants to tap into it and make it grow. That's not going to happen if you're condensing the fixture or rostering games to start at 5pm on a weeknight.
