I'll take a team if you need numbers. I'm no expert but I'm pretty across this draftI’ll get to sorting the Bulldogs Phantom out so we can start this weekend
Still after some more interested parties, don’t want to overwhelm anyone with too many teams
I’m just hoping now that Richmond with all their picks that they’re not taking both Hotton and Hannaford
You just named 7 x KPD, plus Keath who will almost certainly be delisted. Buss and Buku are more suited to third tall defender, but Buss should graduate to the key post. JOD needs more development as a KPD (I don't think third tall suits him). That is plenty.Because they take a while to develop & there are enough concerns over what we have. Plus we’ve never really shown that much of an interest to find a mature age one or trade for one. Buss, Jones, Collins, Adams & sudden recent interest in Barrass aside, and that is going back a while now. We’ve never really had any goodepth there anyway.
Keath - cooked, may be delisted?
Gardner - I don’t mind him as much as plenty of others wouldn’t mind seeing what Pratt can do with him though, 2024 was a write off with injuries.
Jones - 34, some concerns about form but I think it was overblown. But he can’t do it all on his own.
Lobb - about 10 games there, we are really hoping it wasn’t a flash in the pan for 2025.
Buss - untried as yet, need to be hopeful though. But can’t be relied on to hit the ground & never look back.
Croft - I think we want/wanted to try & turn him into a defender, but everything appears to point towards forward & maybe ruck. Have to hope his run of injuries turn around like Darcy too.
JOD - good prospect, but already some concussion worries.
Khamis - some players take time, but hard to see him being more than a depth option
Last couple at least more of a 2nd/3rd tall type, but I mean someone that can play on the big boys. Old fashioned full back role.
Of course if we plan on addressing this with a ready-made option which appears to be the norm these days, then fair enough. I do agree a genuine small forward option is also a need as Arty & Clarke may not come on and need a genuine goal-kicker type.
If not, I’d be thinking more like either 2 mids with one a half forward/mid goal kicker type, even if they are a medium sized marking forward which we don’t really have currently.
Seems to get to a lot of the right spots and isn’t too bad disposing of it. A bit indecisive with the ball thoughAnyone have thoughts on Tom Gross? I’ve noticed there aren’t a whole lot of pure mids around our first two picks
I expect we bid on Marshall at 17Just tried to work out what our picks look like after father/son, academies and the picks used to match bids.
The obvious ones are Ashcroft (Brisbane), Kako (Essendon), Lombard (GC) before 17 and then Marshall (Brisbane) in the early 20s
Any other likely matched bids?
Looking at the picks those clubs have to match bids (and barring any further pick trades), our 17, 25, 35 & 48, should become 20, 29, 35 & 42.
Fair enough. That'd push 20 back to 21, everything else unchanged.I expect we bid on Marshall at 17
Hotton looks clear to get to dogs first pick as long as pick 14 is not traded to a Victorian team as the non-Victorian teams prefer country players. Could always trade up to 14 to make sure.
Hoping for Moraes the 2nd and Oliver 3rd.
I just think he's got all the tools but "stops and props" too often when he gets the ball. Good luck to the kid but I hope we look at someone else.Anyone have thoughts on Tom Gross? I’ve noticed there aren’t a whole lot of pure mids around our first two picks
I'm worried that Moraes hasn't developed this year as we would hope.Hotton looks clear to get to dogs first pick as long as pick 14 is not traded to a Victorian team as the non-Victorian teams prefer country players. Could always trade up to 14 to make sure.

I'm warming to the idea of Hynes with our first. He's a bit boom/bust but an explosive 190cm kid who has midfield scope but will start forward seems perfect for us.
190cm mid/fwd….Thats Matt Kennedy, maybe not explosive but he fills that spot along with Bont. Better fit for the roll than Macrae for half the money.I'm worried that Moraes hasn't developed this year as we would hope.

I've seen him in the teens or early 20s.Looks pretty good from the footage I’ve seen. Reminds me a little of Cripps.
Older draftee, turns 19 in Feb. Possible concerns not a lot of room for development?
Is his draft range in the teens?
Tigers don't have 14 anymore so that's not a problem.190cm mid/fwd….Thats Matt Kennedy, maybe not explosive but he fills that spot along with Bont. Better fit for the roll than Macrae for half the money.
High half forwards in the Dylan Moore, Brent Daniels mold the most pressing need. Endurance, pace and footy IQ. Joe Berry would be ideal, can’t see him getting past Richmond at 14. Would love to see us trade future first for 14, could be gettable with Richmond having 8 first round picks.
Hannaford seems more likely.
Hey JS, any chance you can adjust the settings on your phone or whatever? All your posts are coming up with lots of metadata etc which makes them borderline unreadable. That's a shame as you are a sensible poster.Agreed - getting a mix of Travaglia, Berry, Hotton, Hannaford, Clarke, Hynes, Davis would be massive for us.

Hmmm ... Is anyone else having this problem or is it just me?
I can send a screenshot if it isn't showing up like that on your own device.
I wouldn't go near Hynes with a first. I think he has a really high floor but has almost peaked physically, I think he ends up like Brodie Kemp style dependable third tall.I'm warming to the idea of Hynes with our first.
