I think Ollie was quoted as saying when he re-signed "I wanted to stick around playing with Hayward"He’ll accept unders imo. Maybe 700k, to play with Ollie and win a flag with his mates.

yeah tough choice. Long term says Logan is the logical choice, but short term, Hayward is more effective. depends if we win a premiership i guess, but im leaning towards LoganWhat if we had to pay 650k to afford both him and McDonald? If you pay Hayward 800k you can't keep McDonald but Hayward won't accept less than 800k? Who do you pick?
Just a hypothetical
I don't recall that exactly, more along the lines of playing with his best mates, of which Ollie acknowledged Will as such the other night.I think Ollie was quoted as saying when he re-signed "I wanted to stick around playing with Hayward"

You'd have to think they'd have discussed it and it would play a huge role in the decision making.
He very well could have, I didn't pick it up.I think he did specifically mention Hayward.

Why? Dogs just signed JUH for $1m for another 2 years after Naughton last year. Surely we can fit $700-800k in our cap if we want to.
Aren't the Pies paying something like 20% of Grundy's wage?Grundy is apparently on huge money tho? 950k or something.
We should still be able to retain him but maybe not otherwise he would of signed ?
Just splitting hairs as always time will tell.
Hopefully anyways
This is correct.Aren't the Pies paying something like 20% of Grundy's wage?
This confirms what we've been hearing for some time about the WA draft pool this year.

My source is from non-aligned draft watchers. Pool is poor in comparison to previous years and its almost certainly linked to the Covid lockdown periods.Actually - there’s another side to this.
I’m told by someone well connected in the WAFL that certain elements are deliberately talking down the WA kids, in an effort to push them down the draft order (and it’s not hard to figure out who that benefits).
It’s not the strongest crop. There’s no Harley Reid (or Gus Sheldrick ), but it’s not as bad as some are saying.
I’m not quite sure how Covid impacted - WA had basically no lockdown. None of the juniors had any significant interruptions. My source is from non-aligned draft watchers. Pool is poor in comparison to previous years and its almost certainly linked to the Covid lockdown periods.

And F many others !A national reserves league will help fix the draft pool issues. Reserves players should linked and give clubs bid matching like academies. If clubs get a large development squad it'll improve a lot of the quality available
Meh, it’s paywalled so I choose to just assume it’s sensationalist tripe written by a Vic based journo who has never set foot outside of Melbourne. We need Dubai Quacker to get back to us as to the cause of this disaster. Scapegoats. Solutions. He is the man.
I’m starting to feel like there’s a sad degree of inevitability about Gus.Opinion piece from The West, floating idea of West Coast trying to poach Gus (and Ed Allan from the Pies)
Running with the "Sydney’s salary cap squeeze" narrative
If Gus leaves its for opportunities rather than $$Opinion piece from The West, floating idea of West Coast trying to poach Gus (and Ed Allan from the Pies)

The popularity of basketball isn't helping, junior football and basketball are both played on Sundays, so kids are forced to play one or the other. Not sure if this is the same in other states or not, but the Wildcats are huge over here and basketball is gaining in popularity. We need Dubai Quacker to get back to us as to the cause of this disaster. No. He needs to get up to speed in the VFL first, so until he is in the best players on a semi-regular basis then he still needs to develop. To put him in an AFL match against the best forwards in the country will only expose his current shortcomings and will be to the team's detriment. He needs another year at least before he is in the ballpark of being ready - but I do have high hopes for him.Look, if Edwards is our next big hope, he needs to be in the firsts now. Tom may be 1 more concussion away from retirement and Edwards needs to gain experience ASAP. Wouldn't want to throw him in the deep end without Tom to guide him.
